realme 14 Series lands in Malaysia; Price starts at RM1,199
The realme 14 Series 5G, consisting of the realme 14 and 14 Pro, has officially launched in Malaysia. Despite stemming from the same series, the two devices have somewhat different ethos.
The Pro variant is particularly interesting as it is the first colour-changing phone in Malaysia. If you’re wondering how that works, the phone’s rear panel is cold-sensitive, and when immersed in water below a certain temperature, streaks of blue will appear amid the default milky white colour. It’s worth noting that this colour-changing feature is reserved only for the Pearl Design. The alternative, a Suede Grey colourway, is equally as unique with its suede leather finish adorning the rear panel.
And yes, since you can immerse them in water, the realme 14 Pro has commendable IP66/68/69 dust and water resistance.
Aesthetics aside, the realme 14 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7300 Energy chip. It is supported with 12GB RAM, with the pairing of either a 256GB or 512GB storage. Display-wise, the phone fits a 6.77″ OLED display offering FHD+ (2392×1080) resolution with 120Hz refresh rates. Keeping engines running is a 6,000mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging.
When it comes to cameras, you’ll largely be relying on the 50MP Sony IMX882 OIS camera. Even this department is rather unique, as realme has integrated what they coin the MagicGlow Triple Flash for lighting versatility and photo temperature adjustment.
Other than that, the phone supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity.
Moving on to the realme 14, this model is largely offered as an affordable gaming solution. You’ll recognize that right off the bat, especially with the Mecha Silver colourway which sports a fiercely gaming aesthetic. Other design choices include Storm Titanium and Warrior Pink, which are visibly subdued alternatives. However, they each have the Victory Halo Light that illuminates when you’re gaming.
Where performance is concerned, the realme 14 runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 with two memory configurations: an 8GB+256GB variant and a 12GB+256GB variant. The base model is a smidge smaller than the Pro variant with a 6.67″ AMOLED display. It offers FHD+ (1080×2400) resolution as well as 120Hz refresh rates which is suitable for gaming.
Batteries remain the same across the board, that is, you’ll get the same 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging on the realme 14. Though the rear camera is more or less similar to the Pro sibling with a 50MP shooter, it lacks the Sony sensor that’s understandably reserved for the upper model in the series.
Elsewhere, the realme 14 supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, with an IP69 rating for protection.

The realme 14 Series 5G will be available for purchase very soon, with first sales starting on 19 April. The realme 14 5G 8GB+256GB model will retail at RM1,199, while the 12GB+256GB model tags a RM1,299 price.
There will be an early bird promo where early buyers can enjoy free gifts worth RM826, including an RM100 rebate, a pair of realme Buds T01, finger sleeve and tempered glass, as well as a 1-year extended warranty and 4-year battery warranty.
As for the realme 14 Pro 5G, the 12GB+256GB model will retail at RM1,499, while the larger model with 512GB storage retails at RM1,799. Similarly, an early bird promo is available with identical freebies as the base variant promo, but you’ll get a selfie stick instead of the finger sleeve + tempered glass combo.
The realme 14 Series 5G will be available for purchase on realme’s online channels, including the brand’s official platforms on Shopee and Lazada.
