realme 12 Series launches in Malaysia; Price starts from RM1,499
The realme 12 Series has officially launched in Malaysia with two models up for choosing: the base realme 12+ 5G, and the upscaled realme 12 Pro+ 5G.
Both models are now available for purchase in Malaysia, with the official pricing at memory variants as listed below:
Price of realme 12 Pro+ 5G in Malaysia:

- realme 12 Pro+ 5G (12GB+512GB) – RM2,099
Price of realme 12+ 5G in Malaysia:
- realme 12+ 5G (12GB+256GB) – RM1,499
However, as part of its launch promo from the 1st – 14th of March 2024, realme will be having an online exclusive promo for the realme 12 Pro+ 5G (8GB+256GB) in which prices will drop to RM1,699. This is exclusively for purchases made via realme’s official store on Shopee and Lazada, as well as on tje brand’s TikTok Shop.
An additional promo will take place for the same model, this time in conjunction with the 3.3 Campaigns in which the price will drop even further down to RM1,599 on the aforementioned online channels.
realme 12 Pro+ 5G specs
The realme 12 Series doesn’t stray too far off from last year’s realme 11 Series, maintaining much of its design structure from its predecessor. For starters, you will still have the leathered back panels as well as the gargantuan circular camera bump on the 12 Series. There’s also the streak of gold stitching that stretches from the top middle of the phone, to around the camera modules, and the whole way down.
What’s changed though is that on the higher end realme 12 Pro+ 5G, the lining around the camera module are now made to look like the bezels of a luxury watch with finely-cut triangular grooves.
In addition to its premium design, the 12 Pro+ 5G will utilize the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with either an 8GB+256GB or 12GB+512GB memory. The device sports a 6.7″ curved display with Full HD+ (2412x1080p) resolution, 120Hz maximum refresh rates, and 960nits peak brightness.
realme has also fine-tuned the cameras of the mid-ranger, with the line-up now consisting of a 50MP main camera backed by a 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 with OIS. This is flanked by a 64MP Periscope Portrait camera with a ½” sensor and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, there’s a 32MP Sony punch-hole front camera.
The realme 12 Pro+ 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 67W wired charging. Other noteworthy mentions includes an IP65 protection rating, and Hi-Res dual speakers with Dolby Atmos.
The device comes in Submarine Blue, and Navigator Beige.
realme 12+ 5G
Moving on to the realme 12+ 5G, the base model loses the stylish bezels around the camera modules, replaced with metallic rims instead; though you’ll still have that gold stitching streaking from top to bottom across leathered rear panels. Another noticeable change is the lack of screen curvature, with realme opting for flat displays this time around.
Speaking of displays, there isn’t too much of a difference here, with the 12+ 5g sporting a similar 6.67″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz maximum refresh rates.
There’s a fair bit of compromise when it comes to cameras. You’ll still have the 50MP main cameras, this time backed by the Sony LYT 600 sensor; but you’ll have to make do without the Periscope Portrait camera found on the more upscaled sibling. In its place is an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. At the front, on the other hand, is a 16MP selfie shooter.
In regards to performance, the 12+ 5G utilizes the Dimensity 7050 processor; this is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Batteries are maintained with 5,000mAh and 67W wired charging. For colour choices, you’ll have the choice of either Pioneer Green and Navigator Beige.
