realme 10 launches at RM999; pre-orders starts 14 Feb with free gifts

February 13, 2023

realme’s most recent launch saw the unveiling of the brand’s latest contender in the budget mobile gaming segment. Dubbed by realme as ‘the Terminator’, the realme 10 targets three areas of improvements: performance, storage, and display.

Here are some of the highlights of the realme 10.

Greater performance with Helio G99 Chipset

realme claims the new realme 10 is the new ‘segment performance king’, which aims to provide top class gaming experience within an affordable price point.

In their effort to strive towards better performance, realme has incorporated MediaTek’s Helio G99 chipset. With the chipset’s optimized efficiency and power, the realme 10 successfully pushes the AnTuTu benchmark score to 400,086.

According to realme, the realme 10 has 25% greater CPU performance than the realme 9; and 78% greater GPU performance. The boost in GPU is attributed to the 1.0GHz of computing power from the Arm Mali-G57 MC2 graphics card.

Despite the jump in improvements, the Helio G99 uses up to 20% less power compared to the realme 9. This enables the realme 10 to last longer, or in realme’s unit of measurement: 9.41 hours of PUBG at a stable 40fps.

8GB Dynamic RAM for better efficiency

In realme’s bid to overcome those pesky lag and sudden freeze, they’ve introduced 8GB+8GB of Dynamic RAM for quicker processing. Moreover, you will have 256GB of ROM that’s expandable up to 1TB via external memory.

The combination of Dynamic RAM and larger storage uplifts multitasking capabilities on the realme 10, which can run 18 apps at the same time.

Seamless 90Hz display for smoother gaming

The realme 10 will provide decent gaming cinematics with its 6.4-inch 2400 x 1080 FHD+ Super AMOLED Display that will make colours pop.

The realme 10 also has a 90Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch reporting rate for seamless gaming. Furthermore, a 1000nits peak brightness will do a sufficient job under harsh sunlight.

All this is protected under a Corning Gorilla 5 that will survive drops as high as 1.2m and is highly scratch-resistant.

What about the rest?

Although realme has brought major improvements to gaming, the other aspects of the realme 10 are still pretty decent.

For starters, the realme 10 keeps its large 5,000mAh battery and 33W SUPERVOOC Charge, both of which can be found on the realme 9 series.

The realme 10 makes do with a dual-camera setup: a 50MP Colour AI Camera and a 2MP Black & White Camera. A 16MP front camera will give just enough for occasional selfies when you’re not hung up on gaming.

An interesting addition on the realme 10 is the UltraBoom speaker, which stretches the maximum volume up to 200%. If and when you’re not on speakers, you’ll have the option of the ol’ 3.5mm headphone jack.

At an ultra-slim 7.95mm, the realme 10 is realme’s slimmest smartphone yet. It’s also lightweight at 178g so you won’t strain your wrist after hours of gaming.
