Pros
The Complete Package

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro comes with the complete package to make full use of it. By that, I mean that it comes with a braided USB-C cable, grip tape, and even the 8K polling dongle. The latter is usually sold separately, which always felt like Razer was intentionally trying to milk their customers for a bit more money despite already selling their products at a premium price.
Ergonomic, Lightweight, and Sustainable Design

At just 56 grams, the DeathAdder V4 Pro is featherlight yet sturdy. Its ergonomic shape offers one of the most comfortable grips available, rivaling other top-tier esports mice. It’s certainly ideal for those who play competitive shooters like Valorant, CS2, and Apex Legends, but keep in mind that it’s meant for right-handed gamers, so lefties will need to look for a different mouse.
Interestingly, it’s made with 90% recycled materials and bio-based fibers. They managed to do this while still retaining that premium feel. It can be rather slippery to hold for claw grippers but that’s where the grip tape will come into play.
Exceptional Gaming Performance with Extra Smooth Glide

A lot of the hardware and design being put into the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro allows it to give you top-tier gaming performance. With 100% PTFE mouse feet with an extra one around the sensor, it provides an incredibly smooth glide across most surfaces, while its Focus Pro 45K Optical Sensor Gen-2 offers precise recoil control and fluid aim adjustments. Its ultra-lightweight nature allows you to move swiftly while making movement less tiring.
As mentioned earlier, it comes with the 8K Polling Dongle, which means you can enjoy an insanely fast response time of 0.125 milliseconds compared to the 1000Hz’s 1ms. This enhanced response time also allows you to be even more precise with movements and adjustments, though this benefit would likely not be felt by the average consumer.
Long Life Span

While the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is equipped with optical switches, an optical scroll wheel, and Razer’s Focus Pro 45K DPI optical sensor for unmatched precision and responsiveness, the optical nature allows it to last longer compared to your standard mouse. It has a click lifespan of about 100 million, which is about 100,000 days or 273 years assuming 1,000 clicks are made per day, everyday.
Outstanding Battery Life

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro can last up to 150 hours per full charge, so you can easily game on it for a full week straight with no issues. I personally have clocked in about 142 hours myself of varying use. However, do keep in mind that if you bump up the polling rate all the way to 8,000Hz, the battery life will dip all the way to about 18 to 22 hours. It’s still a full day’s worth of use before you need to charge for those who prioritize performance over everything else.
Editor’s Note: Initially, this mouse was advertised for up to 120 hours per full charge but after a recent firmware update, that number has since gone up to 150 hours, and we’ve definitely experienced that enhanced battery life ourselves with no noticeable performance drops. Your mileage may vary depending on your settings.
Cons
Plain Aesthetic

Minimalist white-on-white design with no RGB lighting makes it look less striking compared to other gaming mice, even the ones within Razer’s own lineup. While the white one looks nicer as the scroll wheel has a bit of black for contrast, the black-on-black is arguably the most mundane looking one. The simple button layout also emphasizes that lack of visual flair.
Slight Inconveniences

There are a couple of small inconveniences that can make the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro annoying to use. First off, it uses a press-to-on power button instead of a switch, which can feel less intuitive, less consistent, and slower. Further, DPI adjustments require you to flip the mouse over instead of having a dedicated top-side button near the scroll wheel, making on-the-fly adjustments a rather cumbersome process.
No Bluetooth Support

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro can be used in both wired and wireless fashion, but it can only do 2.4GHz via the USB dongle for wireless. There is no Bluetooth connectivity option here, so if you need a single mouse solution for multiple devices, like seamlessly switching between a gaming desktop to a work laptop, this is the one for you. The Razer Cobra Pro might be the better buy for this specific feature.
Should You Buy the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro?
The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is a simple gaming mouse in nature. All of its design and tech are used to bring top-tier performance, especially for those in the competitive shooting scene. For its simplicity however, it is rather pricey at RM799 and even then, it has some minor quirks that you need to deal with. The keyword here is minor as it’s a great gaming mouse overall.
So, should you buy it? Ultimately, it depends on whether it suits the kind of games you play and if you can stomach its asking price. Just keep in mind that for how good it can perform, the average consumer / gamer will have a hard telling the difference between this and any other gaming mouse out there.
