Touch ‘n Go eWallet introduces new LPR Parking feature

By Timothy Teoh March 17, 2025

Touch ‘n Go has integrated LPR Parking (License Plate Recognition Parking) into its eWallet service. LPR Parking enables seamless parking payments by automatically deducting the fee from a user’s eWallet without them needing to tap their card at the scanner upon exit.

When entering a car park, the system scans your vehicle’s license plate and sends a notification with your car plate number and location, along with a reminder to ensure sufficient balance in your eWallet.

Upon exit, the system calculates the parking fee and deducts it automatically from your eWallet balance.

There are no additional fees for using LPR Parking, nor is there a minimum balance required to enter parking lots.

According to Touch ‘n Go, LPR Parking will still function even if your phone runs out of battery (in which case the system will rely on the last recorded eWallet balance for the deduction) or if there is no internet connection.

If you find that you have insufficient funds in your eWallet upon exit, you can still make payment using other methods, such as a Touch ‘n Go card.

How to enable LPR Parking on Touch ‘n Go eWallet

You can enable Touch ‘n Go LPR Parking in 5 simple steps:

    • Step1: Launch your TNG eWallet and tap “More” under the “My Favourites” section on the home screen
    • Step 2: Scroll to “Transport”, tap the “Parking” icon, and select “LPR Parking”
    • Step 3: Tap “Add vehicle now” and follow the on-screen instructions to register your vehicle
    • Step 4: Enter your 6-digit PIN to confirm
    • Step 5: You’ll receive a push notification once your vehicle is successfully registered for LPR Parking

At the time of writing, Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s LPR Parking feature only supports 12 locations, listed below. More locations are expected to support the feature in the coming months.
