The highly anticipated Proton e.MAS 5 is coming very soon to Malaysia, and we know exactly when that date is.

Proton e.MAS 5 Launch Date

A new video posted on Proton e.MAS Cars’ official social media channels today has revealed a 9-day countdown to the launch of the Proton e.MAS 5, suggesting that the new EV will make its official debut on 30th October 2025. The short video features Adam Aubrey from Zigwheels, sharing his thoughts on the upcoming EV.

Key Specifications

The Proton e.MAS 5 will be available in two variants; Prime and Premium.

  • Proton e.MAS 5 Premium
    The Premium variant is powered by a 40.16kWh LFP battery and an 85kW (114hp) motor producing 150Nm of torque. It offers a WLTP-rated range of 325km and supports DC fast charging up to 71kW, taking around 21 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. AC charging operates at 6.6kW, requiring about 5.9 hours for a full charge from 10% to 100%.
  • Proton e.MAS 5 Prime
    The Prime variant uses a 30.12kWh LFP battery and a 58kW (78hp) motor with 130Nm of torque, delivering a WLTP range of 225km. While its exact DC charging rate has not been confirmed, Pro-Net stated it also takes around 21 minutes to reach 80% from 30%. AC charging takes approximately 4.3 hours for a full charge.

The Premium variant includes several exclusive upgrades such as 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a powered tailgate, and a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward and Rear Collision Warning (FCW/RCW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Shared features across both variants include a rear-wheel drive setup, rear multi-link suspension, 70L frunk, 28L underseat storage, 375L to 1,320L boot capacity, a 14.6-inch Full HD infotainment display running on Atlas Auto OS, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a live EV charging map, Proton e.MAS App support, and leatherette seats.

Pricing, Colors, and Early Bird Offers

The Proton e.MAS 5 will be priced at RM105,800 for the Prime variant, and RM119,800 for the Premium variant, both of which are OTR prices without insurance. Bookings for the EV are now open at all 42 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide, with a RM99 booking fee. Deliveries are expected to start in November 2025.

The first 5,000 customers will receive a RM500 rebate on their booking fee. Early adopters will also receive a limited-edition Proton e.MAS Enhanced Touch ‘n Go NFC card, which includes RM100 preloaded credit.

The e.MAS 5 will be available in Moonstone White, Graphite Silver, and Slate Grey, paired with a Flint Grey interior. The Premium variant adds two exclusive colours, Marble Cream and Quartz Rose, each complemented by the Alabaster White interior.
