By Raymond Saw December 31, 2025

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the latest and greatest mobile platform from the San Diego-based giant. It’s now made its way to a number of flagship smartphones, each offering their own spin on how best to make use of the powerful hardware under the hood. Some manufacturers are pushing the limits of the silicon, even using liquid cooling to get maximum performance, while others are using it as a basis to add top tier cameras to their devices.

If you’re entering 2026 looking to snag one of these shiny new flagship smartphones with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for yourself, then look no further. We’ve compiled every single device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 that is available for purchase in Malaysia, highlighting its price, specs and features so that you can choose what’s best for you.

They’re ordered by launch date, so we’re starting things off with the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 smartphone in Malaysia:

Nubia Z80 Ultra

The title of the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in Malaysia actually goes to the Nubia Z80 Ultra. Launched in early November, the Z80 Ultra has a pretty unique design—albeit somewhat similar to its predecessor—with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip under the hood. That gets paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16 out of the box, though there’s no word on guaranteed software support for now.

It’s display meanwhile is a 6.85-inch UDC AMOLED panel with a 2688 by 1216p resolution, an up to 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,000nits. Camera-wise, the Z80 Ultra offers a main 50MP shooter, a 50MP ultrawide and a 64MP telephoto with 2.7x optical zoom capabilities; a 16MP under-display front camera snaps your selfies.

Other features of note include a 7,200mah battery with 80W wired and wireless fast charging, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity. The Nubia Z80 Ultra is priced at RM3,699 for its only variant of 16GB RAM + 512GB storage.

RedMagic 11 Pro

The Nubia Z80 Ultra was quickly followed by another flagship smartphone from its own sub-brand: the RedMagic 11 Pro. This performance-focused powerhouse not only packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, but also comes with its own cooling fan and AquaCore liquid cooling system that is visible under its transparent back panel. There’s up to 24GB of LPDDR5T memory and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage too, with Android 16 out of the box skinned with RedMagicOS 11 over it. Details on software support is a little unclear though, with reports of either 2 or 3 major Android OS upgrades.

The back panel of the RedMagic 11 Pro not only lets you see the liquid cooling inside, but is also completely flat with no camera bumps. The cameras themselves are dual 50MP shooters with a tertiary 2MP auxiliary sensor with a 16MP selfie shooter up front. Another cool feature is that the RedMagic 11 Pro has 520Hz shoulder triggers on the side for the most hardcore mobile gamers out there.

Keeping the lights on is a 7,500mAh battery with support for 80W wired and wireless charging. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IPX8 water resistance rating, a stereo speaker setup and incredibly, a 3.5mm audio jack too. The RedMagic 11 Pro comes with starting recommended retail price of RM3,399.

OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 debuted shortly after Nubia and RedMagic’s offerings, with a price tag of RM4,399. It has just one variant available, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mated to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra+ memory and 512GB of storage. It runs Android 16 out of the box with OxygenOS 16 skinned over it, and you’ll get 4 years of major Android OS upgrades with 6 years of security patches.

As for its display, there’s a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a 2772 by 1272p resolution, and can even go up to a 165Hz refresh rate on top of a peak brightness of 1800nits. There’s also a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 over it for scratch resistance. Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a 7,300mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

For photos, you get a triple 50MP rear camera setup for the main, telephoto and ultrawide shooters, with a 32MP front camera for selfies. You’ll also find stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.

Realme GT 8 Pro

Next up we have the Realme GT 8 Pro. Priced at RM4,299, the GT 8 Pro features the branding of Ricoh GR alongside its rear cameras.

That’s because they’ve actually partnered with the Japanese imaging company to co-develop the GT 8 Pro’s cameras. This led to more film-like, street photography-style shooters on the back of the GT 8 Pro, which happen to be a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP telephoto lens; a 32MP front camera rounds things up. Another neat party trick is the interchangeable camera bump design, letting you switch up your style between circular, square or even a naked ‘robot’ look.

Display-wise, you’re looking at a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel with a QHD+ resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 7,000nits. There’s of course the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under the hood, with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It runs Android 16 skinned with Realme UI 7 over it, and will get 4 major Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches.

Other features of note include a 7,000mAh battery with 120W SuperVOOC wired fast charging on top of 50W wireless charging, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP69 dust and water resistance rating, stereo speakers as well as WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.

Poco F8 Ultra

Poco is no stranger to performance-focused flagship smartphones, and its Poco F8 Ultra perhaps best encapsulates that. The F8 Ultra features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip together with a VisionBoost D8 co-processor for improved visual performance. That gets mated to up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. You’ll also find HyperOS 3 skinned over Android 16, with 4 years of Android OS upgrades with 6 years of security patches.

Elsewhere, the Poco F8 Ultra gets a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a 2608 by 1200p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,500nits. Speaking of which, the F8 Ultra’s display adopts a full RGB subpixel structure which they claim reduces power consumption by up to 19.5% compared to its predecessor.

As for cameras, the Poco F8 Ultra features a triple 50MP rear camera setup, together with a 32MP front camera for selfies. Keeping the lights on is a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Other features of note include an IP68 dust an water resistance rating, an in-display fingerprint sensor and WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity. Oh, and there’s also a Bose-branded 2.1-channel audio setup with stereo speakers and even a subwoofer next to the rear cameras.

Launched with a starting recommended retail price of RM3,199, at time of writing it’s going for less than RM3,000, making the Poco F8 Ultra perhaps the most bang-for-buck choice on this list.

Honor Magic 8 Pro

Just before November ended, Honor debuted the Magic 8 Pro in Malaysia. With a starting price of RM4,599, the Honor Magic 8 Pro’s highlight feature wasn’t so much its performance but rather its 200MP telephoto shooter, capable of a 3.7x optical zoom and a 100x digital zoom. That gets flanked by a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide, with an additional 50MP selfie camera up front for good measure.

Of course, it still packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under the hood with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It runs Android 16 out of the box, skinned with MagicOS 10 over it with 4 years of major Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches. As for its display, the Honor Magic 8 Pro features a 6.71-inch OLED panel pushing a 2808 by 1256p resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 6,000nits and a layer of Honor’s own NanoCrystal Shield over it for scratch resistance.

Elsewhere, there’s a 7,100mAh battery with support for 100W Honor SuperCharge wired fast charging and 80W wireless SuperCharge. You’ll also find that it has an IP68/69/69K rating, along with stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner and WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.

iQoo 15

Lastly, we have the iQoo 15. Priced from RM3,699, it launched in early December and not only comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system-on-chip, but also their own Q3 Supercomputing Chip for extra features such as Super Resolution and Super Frame Rate for the mobile gamers out there. That gets mated to up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra Pro memory.

It’s display is a 6.85-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 6,000nits. You’ll also find a triple 50MP rear camera setup with a 32MP selfie shooter, a 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 40W wireless fast charging, on top of stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor and WiFi 7 plus Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.

As for software, the iQoo 15 comes with OriginOS 6.0 skinned over Android 16, with 5 years of major OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates guaranteed. Other UI features include Origin Island, cross-platform connectivity and new system UI animations.
