Poco X8 Pro Max: True flagship performance with massive 8500mAh battery, from RM1,999
Alongside the Poco X8 Pro, the Xiaomi sub-brand has also launched the Poco X8 Pro Max. Like its ‘Max’ suffix would suggest, the Poco X8 Pro Max doubles down on everything, from performance and display to even a massive 8,500mAh battery.
Poco X8 Pro Max Malaysia pricing and availability
The Poco X8 Pro Max is already available for purchase on the Xiaomi Malaysia website and official Xiaomi stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. The base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at RM1,999, while for RM2,199 you get 512GB of storage instead.
If you get the X8 Pro Max from now till 5 April, you can get it the base model for just RM1,699 and the 512GB model for just RM1,799. For even more savings, if you snag the Poco X8 Pro from the Xiaomi Malaysia website, you can use the code ‘mediapocox8’ for an extra RM110 off, valid till 5 April.
Poco X8 Pro Max specs
The Poco X8 Pro Max lives up to its name, with a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display pushing a 1.5K resolution with an up to 120Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 3,500nits. You’ll also find a layer of Gorilla Glass 7i over it for scratch resistance, while the metal frame gets a fibreglass panel on the back, complete with IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance ratings.
Under the hood, the Poco X8 Pro Max is powered by the latest MediaTek flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9500s. This 3nm processor gets mated to 12GB of LPDDR5X-9600 memory and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage, with LiquidCool technology and Poco 3D IceLoop cooling allowing for sustained performance. You’ll find Android 16 out of the box, skinned with HyperOS 3 over it, and support for four major OS upgrades and six years of security patches.
As for cameras, the Poco X8 Pro Max shares a mostly similar camera setup as the regular Poco X8 Pro, with a 50MP, f/1.5 main camera flanked by an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide and a 20MP selfie shooter. However, the Poco X8 Pro Max gets the Light Fusion 600 1/1.95″ image sensor instead.
Elsewhere, the Poco X8 Pro Max features a massive 8,500mAh battery with support for 100W HyperCharge fast charging and up to 27W reverse charging. Other features of note include symmetrical stereo speakers with 400% volume boost, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor as well as support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.
