POCO F6 and F6 Pro: Snapdragon chips, AMOLED displays, mid-range price
The POCO F6 Series has finally received its global debut after much anticipation. The POCO F6 and F6 Pro are now up for pre-orders here in Malaysia, with limited time launch promos exclusive to certain online channels.
Before that, let’s take a brief look at the POCO F6 Series.
POCO F6 Specs
The POCO F6 is the base variant in the series. It comes with two memory configurations, an 8GB+256GB variant, and a 12GB+512GB variant. Both of which uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Helping in performance is the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset released in March this year, making the POCO F6 one of the first few phones to don the new Qualcomm chip.
Coming to displays, the POCO F6 sports a 6.67″ AMOLED display offering 1.5K (2712×1220) resolution. It also offers up to 120Hz refresh rates and 2,400nits peak brightness, with Gorilla Glass Victus protection to top it all off.
On the rear panels you’ll find its two very conspicuous camera lens, the first being a 50MP main camera backed by a Sony IMX882 sensor, and the other an 8MP ultra-wide. Flip the phone to the front and you’ll find its 20MP front camera in a punch-hole cutout.
The POCO F6 runs on a 5,000mAh battery supporting 90W wired charging. It’s decked with dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification. The phone is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance.

However, as part of its launch promo running from 23rd May – 31st May, you can get special discounts exclusively on Shopee and on Xiaomi’s official website. Here’s how the POCO F6 will look during this period:

POCO F6 Pro specs
As for the POCO F6 Pro, this model runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which in 2023 was THE flagship processor found on most top-end devices. It comes with three memory variants all utilizing LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, with the three variants being: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB.
Displays are improved here compared to the base F6 model. The F6 Pro still uses a 6.67″ AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rates, but resolutions has been bumped to WQHD+ (3200×1440), and peak brightness now reaches 4,000nits. Oddly enough, despite being the costlier option, the F6 Pro does not seem to have any glass protection.
When it comes to cameras, the F6 Pro dons a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera. This is flanked by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro lens. At the front is where you’ll find the 16MP selfie shooter.
Like the F6, the F6 Pro is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, this time however it supports 120W wired charging. You’ll still have dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio certification. But again, it somehow misses out on an IP-rating.
Nevertheless, the F6 Pro is the costlier model, with prices retailing as such:
