OPPO Watch X vs Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic: Spec Comparison
If you’re shopping for a smart watch within the RM1,500 range, chances are you’ll have come across the OPPO Watch X and the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
Samsung has gathered plenty of years of experience ever since they introduced the Galaxy Watch series way back in 2018, following up with new launches every year since then. On the other side of the aisle, OPPO too has delved into the wearables sphere with its latest release being the OPPO Watch X.
With competition increasingly stiff at the mid-range segment, how do these cream of the Android crop measure up against each other? Here’s a comparison between the OPPO Watch X and the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic.

It’s plain to see here that the Galaxy Watch6 Classic has far more choices than the OPPO Watch X. Despite sharing a RM1,399 starting price, the Watch6 Classic gives you the option of either a 43mm or 47mm watch face, with LTE and Bluetooth versions available for each option. You’ll of course need to fork out more depending on the variant, but it will cater to the tastes of a wider audience, especially those seeking LTE smart watches.
With the OPPO Watch X, you’ll have a single-sized Bluetooth model with no other variants. Nevertheless, its 1.43″ display does seem to strike the middle ground between the 1.3″ and 1.5″ display of the 43mm and 47mm Galaxy watch respectively. What’s commendable about either model is that they come with AMOLED displays and are protected with Sapphire Crystal glass.
On that note, an IP68 rating and 5 ATM water resistance are present on both. However, these are not suited for diving and are more appropriate for pool settings than deep sea excursions. For sports, you’ll have tons of options with both models, but the OPPO Watch X has the benefit of specialized and in-depth tracking of certain sports, including running and badminton. For example, you’ll have data on your swing speed, type of swing, and even shot distribution.
Samsung did not specify the official peak brightness reading of the Galaxy Watch6 Classic, but we can say that the 1,000nits of the OPPO Watch X will leave you with no visibility problems under sunlight.
You will get pretty similar health tracking whichever model you choose, with heart rate sensors, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep trackers, and step tracking available. Not to mention, they both have built-in GPS for route tracking.
One sensor which only the Galaxy Watch6 has is the infrared temperature sensor which can give you body temperature readings as part of your sleep data. Another neat feature on the Galaxy watch is the rotating bezel for easy navigation and scrolling.
Between the two, the OPPO Watch X is the lighter smart watch at only 49g compared to even the lightest 43mm Galaxy Watch6 Classic which weighs 52g. If you’re planning on the 47mm model, you’ll be moving up a whole 10g heavier amounting to 59g.
