OPPO A79 5G vs realme 11 5G: Spec comparison
OPPO has recently launched the A79 5G, providing yet another affordable option to those seeking a lower mid-segment device.
Priced at RM1,199 in Malaysia, the OPPO A79 5G goes head-to-head with the realme 11 5G, which was launched not too long ago in the third quarter of 2023 at the exact same price.
With both devices competing in the same playing field, let’s see how the direct rivals fare against each other.

Looking at the processors first, there isn’t really too much that sets them apart. Each of them has gone through various testing from external parties such as TechGeeks and Versus with varying results. It’s hard to point at which CPU is better. Even if you could, it would only be a hairline difference.
On paper at least, the realme 11 5G seems to have the better cameras. It sports a 108MP main camera with 3x in-sensor zoom, as compared to the A79 5G’s 50MP main camera. Of course, megapixels alone won’t determine how good a camera is. OPPO’s Reno series has some of the best smartphone cameras out there, so don’t be surprised if some of that quality is transferred to the A series as well.
realme wins the charging race here, boasting 67W of wired charging against the 33W on the OPPO, which is something to keep in mind if you’re constantly on the go and need as much juice within a short time frame.
Both devices have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and support up to Wi-Fi 5. The OPPO A79 5G does have stereo speakers, while the realme 11 5G does not.
