Nothing Phone (4a) Pro revealed with muted design and smaller Glyph Matrix

By Raymond Saw March 6, 2026

Nothing has unveiled their new Phone (4a) series, with their headline model being the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. Positioned more like the original Phone (1) as a premium upper midrange device rather than an outright flagship, the Phone (4a) Pro aims to better strike that balance between price, performance and novelty factor.

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro breaks away from the usual Nothing tradition of transparent designs, with the Phone (4a) Pro now having a metal unibody design with flat surfaces for a chassis that’s just 7.95mm thin, their thinnest phone yet. The transparent parts though have been reduced to just the camera module, housing the cameras and the Glyph Matrix itself.

Speaking of the Glyph Matrix, it comes with 137 mini-LEDs; less than their previous generation smartphones but Nothing says it covers a 57% larger area and is 100% brighter at 3,000nits. There’s also no Glyph Button now, so you’ll need to make your way through the settings to play with your Glyph Toys features, or customise your notification light patterns.

As for the display, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro gets a 6.83-inch AMOLED display pushing a 1.5K resolution with a 450PPI pixel density, a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak HDR brightness of 5,000nits and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i over it for scratch resistance.

Powering the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with Android 16 out of the box, skinned with Nothing OS 4.1 over it with Nothing guaranteeing three major Android OS upgrades and six years of security patches.

In the camera department, the Phone (4a) Pro gets a main 50MP, f/1.9 camera using a Sony LYT700c sensor flanked by a 50MP, f/2.9 periscope telephoto and an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide, with a 32MP, f/2.2 selfie shooter rounding things off. According to Nothing the telephoto offers not only a 3.5x optical zoom but also up to a 140x digital zoom, the longest zoom on a Nothing phone and the longest of its class.

Other features of note include a 5,080mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP65 dust and water resistance rating. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will be available in Black, Pink and White colourways, and will be officially available in Malaysia on 1st April, so stay tuned for more details on pricing.
