Nothing Phone (3a) Lite to Launch on 29 October; Teases Mini Light Bulb on Rear Panel

Just days after benchmark scores for a nameless Nothing device appeared on Geekbench 6, Nothing has now confirmed that there will, in fact, be a new Nothing phone launching in the near future. How near? Well, tomorrow.

As confirmed on Nothing’s official social media, the officially named Phone (3a) Lite is slated for unveiling on 29th October at 13:00 GMT. For Malaysian viewers, that’s 9 PM MYT on the same date.

News of a watered-down Nothing Phone model first broke in July, not long after Nothing released their flagship Phone (3). Back then, tech leakster Yogesh Brar posted on X that these models could either carry the ‘Lite’ or ‘T’ suffix. Now, that prediction has been proven right on the dot.

Nothing has been mum about the details of its new Lite model and has so far kept even the design of the phone under wraps. Nevertheless, judging from the close-up photo posted by Nothing, it looks like the Phone (3a) Lite will feature what appears to be a mini light bulb on the rear panel. It would be an educated guess to assume that a notification indicator would at least be one of its functions.

Piecing this together with the recent Geekbench 6 leaks: the CPU tested on the unnamed Nothing device was the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. The use of this particular SoC strongly suggests that the phone sits comfortably in the mid-range segment.

This aligns with French site Dealabs, which claims the Phone (3a) Lite is expected to retail for €249.99, which after conversion amounts to approximately RM1,225.95. Nothing Malaysia has yet to confirm if the phone will reach our shores, but since the official Nothing Malaysia website is promoting the launch date with a ‘Coming Soon’ message, we here are hopeful.
