Nothing Phone (3) to Launch on 2 July: Here’s Everything We Know So Far

By Timothy Teoh June 4, 2025

The 2-year wait for the Nothing Phone (3) will end on 2 July, 1AM Malaysia Time, as confirmed by the London-based company via their official Instagram account.

So far, the brand has done a splendid job of keeping details of the phone under lock and key. Reliable leaks have been scarce, and Nothing themselves have been mum about the Phone (3). And, in true Nothing fashion, they’re being as cryptic as can be with puzzling animations and images of undefined components believed to be parts of the phone.

They’ve also claimed to have “killed the Glyph Interface”, which is a light system on the rear panel that has become iconic to Nothing Phones. While many are sceptical of the statement, claiming it is merely “rage bait”, others have expressed disappointment should the statement ring true and the GI indeed be omitted.

In a separate post a few days later, Nothing posted a peculiar dot matrix animation, followed by the statement “Come to Play”, which appeared afterward. There’s a lot of speculation about what the animation means, but many have guessed that Nothing is hinting at a customizable dot matrix display in the rear panel, in place of the GI.

Nothing Phone (3): What We Know So Far

While most details are kept under wraps, there have been a few that Nothing CEO Carl Pei himself has let out. In the Android Show: I/O Edition, Carl Pei confirmed that the brand will be “going all in” with the Phone (3), stating that this will be Nothing’s first true flagship phone. He didn’t go too in-depth into that statement, but did mention that it will bring “premium materials, major performance upgrades, and software that really levels things up.”

Of course, upgrades like this will not come without a cost. And the cost, it seems, is very high. In the same video, Carl Pei confirmed that the price of the Phone (3) “will land somewhere around £800,” or RM4,500 when converted into MYR. This is a steep increase from the RM1,999 starting price of the Phone (2) when it launched in 2023.

In the first two iterations of the Phone, Nothing has successfully reduced the cost by utilizing older flagship chipsets. I doubt they will get away with using this strategy this time, so we can expect a Snapdragon 8 Elite or Dimensity 9400 chip on the Phone (3).
