Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition: Only 100 units available in Malaysia, here’s where and when to get them

May 30, 2024

Nothing has announced that a limited edition version of the Phone (2a) will be sold in Malaysia. Bluntly called the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition, the redesigned mid-ranger will feature a new colour scheme incorporating red, yellow, and blue accents.

Nothing products are not new to reds and yellows, the former seen on the right earbuds of Nothing true wireless, and the latter being a colour option on the new Nothing Ear (2a).

If you’re wondering about the blue, Nothing did release a Phone (2a) in an all blue hue, but exclusively in India only.

Nevertheless, all three colours will make its appearance on the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition, offering an alternative to the existing Black or White options. The Special Edition is still primarily white though, with substantial amounts of dark grey for a more striking aesthetic.

The good news is that the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition will retain the RM1,699 price tag, so there’s no increase in price here. However, there will only be 100 units available in Malaysia, with sales starting 12AM on 7th June 2024, exclusively at Crossover online.

Aesthetics aside, there are no other changes to the redesigned Phone (2a). To refresh your memory, the Phone (2a) runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro, coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

It sports a 6.7″ flexible AMOLED display offering 1084 x 2412 resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. Peak brightness reaches up to 1,300nits, and displays are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Other than that, you’ll have dual rear cameras consisting of a 50MP main and 50MP wide-angle. Keeping things running is a 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W charging.

True to the Nothing brand, the Phone (2a) will have the Glyph Interface – albeit a largely subdued version -, and the Nothing OS.
