Nothing Phone (2) receives global launch; Will be available July 15 at CROSSOVER Mid Valley

July 12, 2023

After months of teasing and leaks, the Nothing Phone (2) is here.

The global launch was one of the most anticipated of the year, with curious eyes drawn towards Nothing’s second-gen smartphone in the months leading up.

Now that the curtains are rolled back, we finally get to see what the Phone (2) is all about.

Nothing Phone (2) Price in Malaysia and availability

The Nothing Phone (2) is priced starting at $599, which puts it at an estimate RM2,789.84 in Malaysia. Pre-orders are ongoing exclusively at nothing.tech.

However, prior even to its nationwide release, Nothing will have a limited number of Phone (2) on sale at the CROSSOVER Concept Store at Mid Valley. Sales at this exclusive location will start on the 15th of July at 11AM.

Alongside the Phone (2), the Ear (2) in its new Black colourway will also be available.

Nothing Phone (2) Specs

The Nothing Phone (2) is a big step up from its predecessor in terms of specs. While the Phone (1) debuted as a mid-ranger, the Phone (2) pits itself against the giants in the flagship arena.

The Nothing Phone (2) utilizes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, together with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

It sports a 6.7-inch OLED display with adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rates, and 1600nits brightness; all protected under Gorilla Glass.

Nothing claims it has made vast improvements in photography and videography, with its dual cameras now improved to a 50MP main camera backed by a Sony IMX890 sensor. On the flipside, the front cameras are now 32MP with a Sony IMX615 sensor.

Additionally, you can now even record in 4K 60fps.

The Nothing Phone (2) packs 4,700mAh battery, with 45W wired charging, and 15W wireless charging.

On that note, Nothing has also spilled its transparent touch onto its charging cable. It is still a Type-C cable, but Nothing has somehow managed to make the shell see-through. The new design twist is what the brand calls the Nothing Cable C-C.

As for the iconic Glyph Interface, Nothing hasn’t strayed too far from the original design seen on the Phone (1). The layout of the LED strips are maintained, but they are segmented this time to cater for wider functionality.

For example, the top right strip in the circular middle segment is now both a volume indicator, as well as a timer countdown.

Moreover, its back panels are now slightly curved for better ergonomics, and bezels are now slimmer compared to that of the Phone (1).

Nothing has also done away with the Black colour option which was available on the Phone (1). Instead, they’ve opted for a Grey and White offering for the Phone (2).
