Nothing Phone (2) to launch on midnight of July 12
Something’s brewing for Nothing this July as the brand finally confirms the exact launch date of the Phone (2).
It wasn’t too long ago that CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei, revealed that the Phone (2) will launch somewhere in July, without specifying the date.
Now, we finally have the full details.
The Nothing Phone (2) will launch on the 12th of July (Wednesday) at midnight, Malaysia time. For clarity, this means you can get yourself ready on the night of 11th July, as the launch is scheduled to start right at the stroke of midnight of the 12th.
The launch will be broadcasted on Nothing’s official website and on their YouTube channel.
Based on official teasers posted across Nothing’s social media, the iconic Glyph Interface will remain. It’s no surprise really, since the Phone (1)’s unique transparent design was mainly what set Nothing apart from other smartphone brands.
In relation to specs, we already have confirmation about a few key details.
In an interview with Forbes, Carl Pei confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2) will pack a 4,700mAh battery. This is a pretty decent improvement over the 4,500mAh on the Phone (1).
Prior even to the interview, Carl Pei revealed on Twitter that the Phone (2) will utilize the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Released in 2022, this processor isn’t the newest in the market. However, it was considered one of the better flagship processors from Qualcomm before its successor – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – came about.
With the use of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Carl assures that the Nothing Phone (2) will have improvements in power consumption, heat management, and network connectivity.
Comparatively, last year’s Phone (1) was a mid-ranger that utilized the Snapdragon 778G+ chipset.
Nothing will look to contend with the flagship offerings this time around, so you can expect the Phone (2) to come with a much higher price tag than the RM2,399 of the Phone (1).
In related news, Nothing OS 2.0 – which will come out of the box of the Phone (2) – will also be available for Phone (1) users by the end of August.

Not much has been known about Nothing OS 2.0 at this point, but we can expect a full rundown at the launch of the Phone (2) on July 12.
