Nothing Phone (1) Malaysia: Everything we know thus far
The Nothing Phone (1) is easily the most-hyped and most anticipated smartphone launch of 2022. Although the device is scheduled for launch on 13 July 2022, 1am (local time), there’s been a number of details that have been revealed which we will be covering in this article.
Phone(1)’s Design
Built with an aluminum frame, The Phone (1) has a very unique transparent rear case that allows users to see-through some of its components.
But perhaps what’s most out standing, is its 900 over LED lights that surrounds the cameras, wireless charging pad, the charging port and a diagonal strip on the top right corner.
These LED lights not only functions as notification lights that lights up when receiving notifications but also lights up when reverse wireless charging is running and also serves as a charging progress bar when charging via USB-C.
Lastly, these LED lights can also serve as fill light for the cameras when taking photos in low-light conditions.
Phone(1)’s Display
According to leaked information from Twitter user, Abhishek Yadav, the Phone (1) will sport a 6.55″ OLED display. The display will be buttery smooth with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
Furthermore, the display will be fortified by a dual-side Gorilla glass protection.
Processor
Nothing’s CEO Carl Pei has confirmed that the Nothing Phone (1) will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G Plus chip and not the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.
In a recent interview, Pei revealed that Nothing opted for the Snapdragon 778G Plus as the company believes it “is more suitable than thermals and power savings from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ (5nm made by TSMC), 8+ Gen 1 (5nm made by Samsung) and 7 Gen 1 (5nm made by Samsung).”
Camera
As for the camera set, the device is rumored to feature a 50MP dual rear cameras with an f/1.8 aperture. It will also come with 4K 60FPS video recording capabilities.
Unfortunately, there are currently no leaked information regarding the punch hole selfie camera that will be available on the device.
Summary
The device is rumored to be priced at €469.99 (MYR 2163.44) for its 8+128GB base model, €499.99 (MYR 2301.54) for its 8+256GB model and €549.99 (MYR 2531.69) for its 12+256GB model.
