Striking PS5 Covers and Controllers are Coming to Malaysia

Last year, Sony announced the release of a range of galaxy-inspired console and controller colours for the PlayStation 5. The announcement came after the company had a legal dispute with third-party vendors that sold custom-made PS5 covers.

Fast forward to a few months later, Sony Malaysia adds three more colours to its colourful line of PS5 covers. Given that the PS5 gives off the appearance of an otherworldly technology, it makes perfect sense to use a galaxy theme for its colour variants.

If you own a PS5, you can now change its default white faceplate to red, blue, purple, pink or black! Read on to learn more about these official PS5 covers and matching DualSense controllers.

Take a Look at These Colourful Galaxy-Inspired PS5 Covers

The PlayStation 5 console covers come in five colours: Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, Starlight Blue, and Midnight Black.

According to Sony, the design of these stylish console covers made them easy to install. To replace the white faceplate, all you need to do is remove it and click the new cover into place.

Removing the covers will also be easy since you won’t need to use any tools. It should be noted that you’ll need to remove them to access the SSD slot if you plan on expanding the storage.

These official PS5 covers are standalone items sold separately from the console. They are currently available at participating retailers for the PS5 Ultra HD Blu-ray and the PS5 Digital Edition.

You Can Also Pair Them with Matching DualSense Controllers

Aside from the PS5 covers, Sony also released new vibrant-designed DualSense wireless controller models to go with the console covers. The new colours, Galactic Purple, Nova Pink and Starlight Blue, join the existing Midnight Black and Cosmic Red variants announced in May 2021. 

With the same colour scheme as the console covers, the colour varieties add more charm to the excellent gamepad. If you’re not a fan of the original design, you can pick one from the alternatives that suit your taste.

PS5 Covers and DualSense Controllers Price and Availability in Malaysia

A quick visit to Sony Malaysia’s website reveals that the new PS5 DualSense wireless controllers in Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue cost RM369, similar to the Cosmic Red model. Meanwhile, the standard white and Midnight Black controllers cost RM349 each.

On the other hand, the new PS5 cover designs are not available yet for purchase. It might be some time until the covers will be available. After all, the PS5 is still hard to come by even a year after its release due to chipset shortage.
