Nintendo reveals first look at the Switch 2

By Timothy Teoh January 17, 2025

It’s been a long time coming, but Nintendo has finally unwrapped the upcoming Switch 2 for all the world to see. Nintendo unveiled the Switch 2 via a 2-minute first-look trailer, although there’s no official confirmation about the specs or measurement.

For now, we can only deduce what’s new from what was previewed in the trailer.

The first noticeable upgrade is that the Switch 2 will get larger displays. They made this quite clear at the start by showing the Switch 1’s display ballooning to a larger one. The bezels also seem a fringe thinner, particularly at the top and bottom sides of the landscape edge.

We now also have a full-width kickstand built into the rear panels that seems to go as low as 30 degrees.

A larger body calls for larger Joy-cons, and that’s exactly what you’ll get. Nintendo has heightened the Joy-cons assumingly to give it a better fit to the body. From the outlook, the controllers still maintain the palm-friendly form factor without any additional bulk.

On that note, the trailer also shows the Joy-cons snapping into the sides of the Switch 2 by what looks like magnetic connectors.

Again, we don’t have anything official yet, however, Nintendo will hold a special announcement event on 2nd April.

DJI Flip drone with foldable propellers makes its way to Malaysia

By Timothy Teoh January 17, 2025

You’ve heard of flip phones, but have you heard of flip drones? Well, now you have. DJI’s latest addition – the DJI Flip – is equipped with foldable propellers that allows for portability in a compact form factor. The propeller folds downwards, essentially streamlining the drone and making it bag-friendly. It also helps that the drone itself weighs less than 249g.

More than that, the DJI Flip is a fully functioning camera drone with a 1/1.3″ CMOS sensor that’s capable of 4K/60fps HDR video and 48MP photos. The drone also supports 2.7K Vertical Shooting, and Slow Motion in 4K at 100fps.

Where editing is involved, you have the option to shoot in 10-bit D-Log M for greater post-shoot flexibility.

Additionally, the DJI Flip supports palm takeoff without a remote control. You can control it via the DJI Fly app, which for that matter also supports Voice Control. It also comes with a variety of shooting modes, namely Drone, Circle, Rocket, Helix, Boomerang, and Spotlight. There’s also a 3D Infrared Sensing System that enables automatic braking even at night.

DJI claims the drone can last up to 31 minutes of flight time with the DJI Flip Intelligent Flight Battery.

    DJI Flip price in Malaysia

The DJI Flip comes in three kit options. The basic kit is priced at RM1,679 and includes a RC-N3 controller in the setup. For RM2,399, you can upgrade your controller to the DJI RC 2 which comes with a 5.5″ FHD display. Or, for RM2,999, you can opt for the Fly More Combo that comes with an DJI RC 2 controller and a DJI Flip Parallel Charging Hub for charting two batteries simultaneously. All kits come with the DJI Flip Intelligent Flight Battery, among other accessories.

The DJI Flip is available immediately in Malaysia at DJI authorised retailers. Alternatively, you can also purchase the DJI Flip at DJI’s official online platforms on Shopee and Lazada.
