New Foldable on the Horizon as vivo Teases X Fold5 Launch in Malaysia

The foldable scene in Malaysia is set to welcome a new contender into the mix. vivo Malaysia has confirmed via a teaser on its official Facebook page that the X Fold5 will be making its way to Malaysia.
This wouldn’t be vivo’s first attempt at a book-style foldable. In fact, the China-based brand is more than acquainted with the foldable scene, having a few generations of foldables under its belt. However, none of these have ever made it to our shores, until now.

The decision to bring the X Fold5 to Malaysia comes at a pivotal juncture. Foldables are gaining traction in the country, with more brands now jousting for the top position. The X Fold5 will undoubtedly face stiff competition from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, the HONOR Magic V5, the OPPO Find N5, and the HUAWEI Mate X6.
And like its competitors, the X Fold5 is expected to boast an ultra-lightweight form factor and an ultra-sleek design.
vivo Malaysia has not publicly announced the launch date of the phone just yet. However, inferring from the teaser post’s “The future unfolds soon” statement, our guess is that the wait won’t be too long – potentially in the coming weeks.
Not many details have come to light just yet, but the X Fold5 has already launched in China. If that’s anything to go by, one of the main highlights of the X Fold5 will be the ZEISS cameras, along with a 6,000mAh battery. It’s unclear if vivo will make any region-specific changes, so we’ll have to wait for the official local launch for the full rundown.
