New braided Black Unity Apple Watch band now available for RM449

On top of the second generation AirTag, Apple has also announced their newest Apple Watch Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop. Part of their annual Black Unity collection honouring Black History Month, their latest strap is now available for purchase on the Apple Malaysia website and Apple Store app, priced at RM449.

Available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes and band sizes 0-12, the new braided watch strap showcases the iconic red, black and green colours of the Pan-African flag. This new loop, just like previous Black Unity bands, was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple.

According to Apple, they made it by weaving recycled polyester yarn filaments around ultrathin silicone threads via advanced precision-braiding machinery. This gives the loop a soft textured feel that’s also sweat and water resistant.

In conjunction with the launch, Apple added that they’re proud to support organisations that inspire connection and promote creativity in under-resourced communities around the world. As such, Cupertino has issued out grants to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney and Enactus México in Mexico City. Apple stated that these grants will built upon their long-standing commitment to advancing economic, educational and creative opportunities in communities globally.
