Amidst all the hype surrounding the highly anticipated iPhone SE4, Apple has finally released the…Powerbeats Pro 2. Don’t worry, the new iPhone SE is still very much in the works, but until then, the Powerbeats Pro 2 true wireless headphones will look to pacify Apple consumers in the meantime.

Succeeding the first Powerbeats Pro released in 2019, the Powerbeats Pro 2 sports plenty of notable upgrades and additions. For starters, Apple says the headphones are 20% lighter than their predecessor, with a 33% smaller charging case for easier portability.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 is also the first in Apple’s audio line to offer heart rate monitoring, made possible via precision-crafted LED optical sensors that measure blood flow. To further align with the fitness standpoint, Apple has made the headphones IPX4-rated for sweat and water resistance.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 features Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to block out external noise, with the option of Transparency Mode to maintain spatial awareness. There’s also Adaptive EQ, which uses inward-facing microphones to scan the ear shape and optimize the listening experience.

In terms of battery life, Apple claims the buds will last 10 hours of playback on a single charge, extending up to 45 hours if you include the case. The case now also supports wireless charging.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 is already available for orders in Malaysia on Apple’s official website for RM1,049. As for colour options, you have the choice of Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange.

The past week has been rife with rumours about a new iPhone SE model that could be released very soon. Leaks surrounding the device are at an all-time high, with multiple media outlets sharing probable design renders of the phone.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s latest entry-level iPhone will sport noticeable overhauls from the 2022 iPhone SE. For starters, it will finally include Face ID and USB-C, aligning it with the latest iPhones. Additionally, the home button has been deemed outdated and ditched entirely.

The rumoured looks of the new iPhone SE

The new iPhone SE is also expected to launch with the A18 chip – the same chip utilized in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus – in order to accommodate Apple Intelligence.

At this point, we have no official confirmation from Apple. However, rumours suggest that the new iPhone SE will make a quiet debut into Apple Stores, with little to no fanfare surrounding its launch.
