‘Most Affordable New 5G Smartphone’ realme 12x 5G now in Malaysia
The realme 12x 5G, dubbed by realme itself as the ‘Most Affordable New 5G Smartphone’, is now officially available in Malaysia.
This is the latest installment to the brand’s 12 series launched in March this year. With the addition of the 12x model, the series now has four models under its belt, with the other three being the realme 12 Pro+ 5G, realme 12+ 5G, and realme 12 5G.
Back to the realme 12x 5G, this model will come with two memory configurations, an 8GB+128GB model retailing at RM899, and an 8GB+256GB model retailing at RM1,099. Do note, however, that the 8GB+128GB variant will only be available at a later date.
Pre-orders for the 12x 5G has begun on realme’s official online stores, including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Subsequently, there will be a first sale promo from 18 May to 31 May, where purchases of the device will come with Techlife Wireless Earbuds worth RM169.
Alternatively, the realme 12x 5G is also attainable from selected telco brands, including CelcomDigi, U Mobile, Yes, redONE, and Yes.
Now onto specs, the realme 12x 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6100+ with 5G support. It’s fitted with a 6.67″ display offering 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rates, with peak brightness reaching 625nits. For eye protection, the displays are TÜV Rheinland certified for Low Blue Light.
On its rear panel is a large circular camera module housing a dual camera setup, the primary of which is a 50MP main camera. Over at the front is an 8MP front camera in punch hole format.
Elsewhere, the realme 12x 5G runs on a 5,000mAH battery supporting 15W wired charging. Other noteworthy features includes the Mini Capsule 2.0, an IP54-rating for dust and water resistance, as well as a 3.5mm earphone jack.
The realme 12x5G comes with the choice of Feather Green, or Glowing Black.
