Meet MobileSHIELD: CelcomDigi’s New Weapon Against Scams and Malware
CelcomDigi has today introduced its latest mobile security app, MobileSHIELD. The MobileSHIELD app, which is separate from the Celcom Life app, was developed in partnership with Finland-based cybersecurity company F-Secure.
The app is designed to enhance users’ digital safety by providing protection against rampant online threats such as scams, malicious apps, identity leaks, and privacy breaches. It can detect and block fake websites and scam SMS, and even secure Wi-Fi connections to protect your device when browsing the internet. As an added layer of protection, the app also detects and prevents the download of risky apps that could potentially be malware in disguise.
According to CelcomDigi, the MobileSHIELD app will alert users if their personal data is leaked, allowing them to take preventive measures to safeguard themselves. A privacy VPN feature is also included, allowing users to surf safely on public Wi-Fi.
CelcomDigi’s MobileSHIELD app is available via an RM10/month subscription. If users opt for a 12-month contract, the monthly fee is reduced to RM4/month. In conjunction with the launch, customers who subscribe between 7th August and 18th September will enjoy a free one-month trial.
MobileSHIELD is already available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Users can subscribe to the service via the Celcom Life or MyDigi apps.
