Maybank to introduce daily transaction limit and 12-hour cooling period for reload services
Maybank has announced that it will introduce a daily transaction limit for reload services starting on 26 May 2025. This is part of the bank’s effort to safeguard transaction security and ensure a safer online banking experience.
According to Maybank’s announcement, the default daily transaction limit is now set at RM200 for Prepaid Services. However, users can increase the limit to a maximum of RM500 via the Maybank2u web. Do note that if users decide to increase the transaction limit, a 12-hour cooling-off period will take effect. Maybank states that a push notification will be sent via the MAE app and email to notify users when the cooling-off period starts and ends.
The services that now have a daily transaction limit include mobile prepaid top-ups and game credits with PIN.
To increase the daily transaction limit for reload services on Maybank2u web, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Log in and go to ‘Settings’
- Step 2: Under ‘Pay & Transfer’, go to ‘Reload Limit’
- Step 3: Click the dropdown to select your new intended limit
- tep 4: Approve your transaction via Secure2u and you’re done!
