Maxis is offering Galaxy Buds 3 OR Galaxy Tab A9 when you pre-order the Galaxy S25 Series

By Timothy Teoh January 28, 2025

If you’re eyeing the recently launched Galaxy S25 Series, you might already know that CelcomDigi is offering free goodies as part of its promo. However, they aren’t the only telco doing so. Maxis, too, has its own promotional offers for the Galaxy S25 Series which you might be interested in.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Series from Maxis will run from 24 January to 13 February 2025. For now, the 512GB variants of the Galaxy S25 and S25+ are available, along with the 512GB and 1TB variants of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The models are available via 24- and 36-month Zerolution payment plans with no upfront payment. Alternatively, you can opt for the 24-month Normal Device Contract which requires an upfront payment for the device, albeit at a discounted rate. Regardless, all plans must be paired with an eligible Maxis Postpaid plan.

As for the promo, Maxis is offering freebies depending on the model you choose. Customers who pre-order the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will receive a FREE pair of Galaxy Buds 3 worth RM599, while pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with a FREE Galaxy Tab A9 LTE also worth RM599.

Do note that the freebies are subject to stock availability and are not applicable to pre-orders tied to Maxis Family Plan or Maxis Postpaid Share 48.

This means that to qualify for the freebies, customers must pair the device with either Maxis Postpaid 109, 139, 169, or 199 plans.

Which plan is best for you?

It’s well worth noting that the only difference between each Postpaid plan is the number of Share Lines available. In terms of internet data, all plans come with unlimited 5G/4G data, along with unlimited calls and SMS.

Assuming you’re flying solo and don’t need to cater to another Share Line, it would make sense to pair your device with the most affordable Maxis Postpaid 109 plan. Though you save more on the device with higher-tiered plans, your Maxis bill will rack up the cost over time, ultimately leading to higher overall spending by the end of your contract.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the Galaxy S25 Series paired with the Maxis 109 Postpaid plan (excluding tax), along with the total estimated cost by the end of the device contract.

Galaxy S25
  • Normal Contract (24M): RM2,899 (upfront payment) + RM109/month = RM5,515 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (24M): RM145/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM6,096 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (36M): RM100/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM7,524 by end of contract
Galaxy S25+ (512GB)
  • Normal Contract (24M): RM3,499 (upfront payment) + RM109/month = RM6,115 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (24M): RM185/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM7,056 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (36M): RM130/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM8,604 by end of contract
Galaxy S25 Ultra (512GB)
  • Normal Contract (24M): RM4,499 (upfront payment) + RM109/month = RM7,115 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (24M): RM230/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM8,136 by end of contract
  • Zerolution (36M): RM160/month (for device) + RM109/month = RM9,684 by end of contract

Ultimately though, the decision comes down to you. If you have supplementary lines to account for, opting for a larger Maxis Postpaid package is undoubtedly the better offer. It also largely depends on your cash flow and how much you can allocate to your telco and device plan per month.
