Maxis Family Plans: Up to 1Gbps fibre and 4 unlimited 5G mobile lines, from RM299

Maxis has introduced its new Maxis Family Plans, an all-in-one bundle that combines high-speed home fibre internet with unlimited mobile data, aimed at simplifying connectivity for households.

The new plans are available in two tiers: RM299 and RM399 per month. The RM299 plan includes 500Mbps home fibre broadband and three ‘unlimited’ 4G/5G mobile lines, while the RM399 plan comes with 1Gbps fibre speeds and four ‘unlimited’ mobile lines.

According to their FAQs, each plan will have get a main principal line holder with the remaining mobile plans parked under them as family member lines. Despite being deemed ‘unlimited’ plans, there’s still a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of course, with Maxis stating that if the combined mobile data usage of the principal line and the family member lines exceeds 500GB per month, they may limit your browsing speeds.

Subscribers will also receive a WiFi 6 router with free installation to ensure better in-home coverage. In addition, Maxis is offering a complimentary Sooka Premium subscription for a limited time. Maxis Family Plan 399 users can get a mobile device rebate of up to RM1,000 too.

For extra customisation, users can upgrade fibre speeds up to 2Gbps and add up to six additional mobile lines. For instance, Maxis Family Plan 299 subscribers can upgrade to 1Gbps for RM90 per month or 2Gbps for RM160 per month, while Family Plan 399 subscribers can upgrade to 2Gbps for RM70 per month. Additional mobile lines for large families meanwhile are priced at RM48 per line.

For locations without fibre coverage, Maxis also offers the Maxis Family Plan with 5G Home WiFi, which comes with a free 5G router for a plug-and-play setup. Existing Maxis customers can switch to the new Maxis Family Plans by visiting a Maxis Centre or contacting Maxis customer service.
