Malaysia’s Digital Future: Canon’s New Smart Tech Could Change How You Work

What if your office printer could fix itself before breaking down? Or your business documents were instantly searchable with a tap?
That future might not be far off. Canon Marketing Malaysia has wrapped up its Think Big Klang Valley Series 2025, an event that brought together leaders, innovators, and policymakers to discuss how AI and smart technologies are shaping Malaysia’s digital future.
The event, held at Sheraton Petaling Jaya, was the final stop in Canon’s nationwide Think Big series, following earlier sessions in Johor Bahru, Penang, and Putrajaya, and focused on the theme “Future-Ready Malaysia: Innovation, Resilience, Growth.”
AI, Automation, and a Smarter Malaysia with Canon

While Malaysia’s Minister of Digital, YB Gobind Singh Deo, couldn’t turn up, MyDIGITAL CEO Adrian Marcellus spoke on his behalf, particularly on how the nation can unlock its “ASEAN AI advantages.” He reaffirmed the government’s goal to make Malaysia a regional leader in digital transformation.

Industry experts like Dr. Jasmine Begum, Non-Executive Chairperson of MIMOS Berhad, and Alan Tan, Chief Economist of Affin Bank Group, shared insights on how AI is already reshaping everything from financial forecasting to everyday business operations.
Canon’s New Smart Devices: AI That Works Behind the Scenes

Canon also unveiled its latest innovation, the imageFORCE multifunction device (MFD) series, a next-generation office system equipped with AI-assisted maintenance, intelligent data capture, and predictive analytics.
In simple terms, these new devices can monitor their own health, alert users to potential issues before they happen, and even automate repetitive office tasks. Canon says this will help both small businesses and large organizations work smarter, save energy, and cut down on downtime.

Why It Matters to You

As hybrid work becomes the norm and more Malaysians rely on cloud-based systems, Canon’s push toward secure, connected, and sustainable devices could mean fewer IT headaches and more time spent actually getting work done.
It’s not just about business efficiency, it’s about how technology like AI can make everyday work more human by taking care of the boring stuff, letting people focus on creativity and collaboration.
