Malaysia Successfully Hosts APAC Predator League 2025: Esports Meets Culture
The sixth edition of the Asia Pacific (APAC) Predator League officially held from on 11-12 January 2025, marked its debut in Malaysia. Hosted at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur, this prestigious regional esports tournament features 28 teams from 14 regions competing in Dota 2 and VALORANT. With a total prize pool of USD 400,000, participants also vied for the coveted Predator Shield.
Festival Atmosphere and Community Engagement
The event, held over 2 days, combines gaming with cultural celebrations. Highlights include performances by international stars Sandara Park and Minzy of 2NE1, alongside local artists Aina Abdul and Hael Husaini. Fans also enjoyed a Coswalk competition, immersive activities, and the unveiling of Nero and Yuffy, two champions designed to reflect the tournament’s spirit of rivalry and camaraderie.
Additionally, the tournament introduced a localised version of “It Lies Within” by Aina Abdul, the theme song for the competition to foster a deeper cultural connection.
High-Stakes Matches and Local Talent Shining through
The tournament format features elimination rounds leading to finals in both VALORANT and Dota 2.
Top rewards include USD 65,000 for champions, USD 20,000 for runners-up, and USD 7,500 for third and fourth place. Special awards such as MVPs of the matches will also be given to recognize standout individual performances.
Alter Ego (Indonesia) beat ZOL E-Sports (Philippines) to take home the Predator Shield for VALORANT while Myth Avenue Gaming (Malaysia) won the Dota 2 showdown against Team Helios (Indonesia).


Esports Meets Cutting-Edge Technology
Competitors utilized Acer’s premium Predator gaming gear, including the Predator Orion X desktop, Predator XB253Q monitor, Galea 365 headset, and gaming chairs. According to Acer Pan Asia Pacific President Andrew Hou, the league serves as a “community-driven platform” blending gaming, technology, and entertainment, catering for gamers and non-gamers alike.
