LG releases OLED evo G3, OLED evo C3, and OLED A3 TVs with new α9 AI Processor

July 12, 2023

LG Electronics Malaysia (LG) marks what is their 10th consecutive year as the World’s No 1 OLED TV brand with the release of three new OLED TV series.

The new line-up adds three more models to their TV catalogue: the OLED evo G3, the OLED evo C3, and the OLED A3. Display sizes ranges from 55″ all the way to 83″, with prices starting from RM8,999 and maxing out at RM35,999.

These additions implement a variety of upgrades in visuals, audio, and processors. One such notable upgrade being the new α9 AI Processor Gen6 in the evo G3 and evo C3 series.

This latest processor will offer improvements in areas such as Dynamic Tone Mapping, HDR Expression Enhancer, and AI Clear Sound, which LG says will provide users with an experience that’s more “involved and lifelike.”

Additionally, the series will also include its latest operating system, webOS 23.

Here are the pricing details in Malaysia, and a brief view as to what each series offers.

LG OLED evo G3

  • 65″ LG OLED evo G3 – RM17,999
  • 77″ LG OLED evo G3 – RM32,999

The premium OLED evo G3 is the beneficiary to a host of premium specs. Aside from the α9 AI Processor Gen6, the evo G3 has Brightness Booster Max technology which increases brightness by up to 70%.

It also has Super Anti Reflective technology to reduce light glare when the TV is hit with a direct light source (eg. the sun).

The evo G3 caters to gamers, with displays clocking in 0.1ms response time. It is NVIDIA G-Sync compatible, and has up to 4x HDMI 2.1 ports.

Where aesthetics are concern, the evo G3 is incredibly slim. LG says it implements a zero-gap mount design which blends in seamlessly into your walls.

LG OLED evo C3

  • 55″ LG OLED evo C3 – RM10,999
  • 65″ LG OLED evo C3 – RM14,999
  • 77″ LG OLED evo C3 – RM29,999
  • 83″ LG OLED evo C3 – RM35,999

The OLED evo C3 also receives the α9 AI Processor Gen6. Similar to the evo G3, it is integrated with Brightness Booster, albeit only up to 20% brighter.

It does, however, misses out on Super Anti Reflective technology.

You will still have a display suitable for gaming. Again, it clocks a 0.1ms response time, is NVIDIA G-Sync compatible, and has up to 4x HDMI 2.1 ports.

The evo C3 is compatible with LG’s WOW Bracket that comes with the SC9S soundbar. What this means is that you can have both the evo C3 and the SC9S sound bar mounted onto the same bracket on the wall, removing the need for a coffee table to rest the soundbar as seen in most home theatre setups.

LG OLED A3

  • 55″ LG OLED A3 – RM8,999
  • 65″ LG OLED A3 – RM11,999

You can expect good visuals and audio on the OLED A3 thanks to Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, there is no Brightness Booster and Super Anti Reflective Technology.

For ports, you’ll have up to 3 HDMI 2.0 ports.

The OLED evo G3, OLED evo C3, and OLED A3 all have Eyesafe technology to reduce eye strain. Moreover, WOWCAST on all models in the series allows you to connect the TV to LG Sound Bars seamlessly.
