iQoo 15 Ultra set to debut with sweat-resistant 600Hz shoulder triggers

The iQoo 15 may have already made its global debut—and is also available in Malaysia—but the Vivo sub-brand isn’t done yet. The iQoo 15 Ultra is set to launch in China some time next month, and it appears that it will get some performance-focused upgrades over the regular iQoo 15 too.
The most notable one are the touch-sensitive shoulder triggers on the side. Able to be seen on the released teaser images of the device, iQoo’s product manager added on Weibo that these will come with a 600Hz sampling rate with dual independent control chips. On top of that, these shoulder triggers will be ‘sweat-resistant’ too.

The Weibo post goes on to say that these shoulder triggers are equipped with a linear motor for a tactile feel. This seems to imply some level of haptic feedback with the shoulder triggers, something that mobile gamers have always asked for as devices with physical shoulder triggers remain a rarity as they lead to mechanical wear. In contrast, a touch sensor should in theory have a much longer lifespan.
We should get more details about the iQoo 15 Ultra in the coming weeks as they build up more hype for its launch. It remains to be seen whether or not it will make its way to Malaysia, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it does considering the local mobile gaming scene.
