Apple to Unveil the iPhone 17 Series on 10 September – Here Are the Big Changes to Expect

Apple has locked in the date that the tech giant will unveil the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Series, with the date being September 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM PT. For us in Malaysia, this converts to September 10 at 1:00 AM MYT.
As usual, the keynote will be broadcast live on Apple Malaysia’s official website.
The event will herald a new dawn for iPhones, with the iPhone 17 Series set to introduce some major changes to the line-up, along with a refreshed facelift for the Pro models.
iPhone 17 Series: What to Expect

Starting first with the line-up change, reliable sources over the months have suggested that the longstanding Plus model will be swapped out for an ‘Air’ model. The iPhone 17 Air will likely be the slimmest iPhone ever created and is regarded as Apple’s answer to the Galaxy S25 Edge, released back in May.
For dimensions, leaks report that the 17 Air will measure a slim 5.5mm and weigh only 145g. However, the trade-off here is that it will sport a dialed-down battery of only 2,800mAh. The last iPhone to feature a 2,800mAh capacity was the iPhone 12 Series back in 2020.

Air model aside, Apple will also introduce a design overhaul for the Pro models. Based on leaks of mock-ups and renders, the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max look like they will launch with an enlarged, rounded rectangular camera housing this time around. The camera plaque takes up nearly the top quarter of the rear panel and is, at the very least, a refreshed design that could differentiate it from its predecessors.

Upgrades expected on the Pro models include an enhanced 48MP telephoto camera, a larger battery, and an anti-reflective screen — which could serve as a point of differentiation between the base and Pro models, now that the base model is finally expected to launch with a 120Hz display.
Additionally, a never-before-seen bright orange colourway could also be introduced, alongside white, dark blue, and black options.
