iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max: Titanium Design, A17 Pro, 5x Optical Zoom; From RM5,499
The Apple Wanderlust Event 2023 saw the unveiling of the four iPhone 15 models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
We’ve given a brief rundown of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in our previous article. Now it’s time to see what’s new with the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max Specs
Apple has laid bold changes to the 15 Pro and Pro Max by introducing a new Titanium design. Despite the use of this hardy metal, it still comes in as the lightest Pro model ever.
Dynamic Island is maintained, which if you have read our previous article, is now also available on the base models. In keeping with standardizations, the iPhone 15 Pro models will also utilize USB-C for charging.
There is, however, mega changes on the chipset with Apple introducing the new A17 Pro. The new chip features a 6-core Pro-class GPU which Apple boast is able to support games that were previously only available on console and PC.
To drive the point further, Apple announced that Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 (yes, these games were previously only available on console and PC), as well as the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage will come to the iPhone 15 Pro models.
Apple also boasts that the A17 Pro Chip supports ray tracing, users will see marked improvements in resolution, dynamic lighting, and response times.
If you are looking for the Mute Switch – it’s no more. In its place is a customizable Action Button which you can program to your liking – including muting, launching your camera, starting a voice memo, and many others.
Similar to the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Pro model cameras are 48MP – though it comes with a larger sensor, and more focal length choices (24mm, 28mm, and 35mm).
On the iPhone 15 Pro, the main camera is flanked by a 3x telephoto camera and a 12MP ultra-wide. The iPhone 15 Pro Max however features a superior 5x telephoto camera at 120mm, which is the longest optical zoom ever on an iPhone.
Just as in the iPhone 15, the 15 Pro Models has Focus and Depth control, which allows you to adjust focus after the photo has been taken.
Riding on the Vision Pro released earlier this year, Apple has incorporated Spatial Video into the iPhone 15 Pro. Using Spatial Video, users can replay the video on the Vision Pro. This will be available later this year.
In terms of size, the iPhone 15 Pro sports a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the larger 6.7-inch display.
The iPhone 15 Pro is available in four colours: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium, and Natural Titanium.

As stated in the Apple Malaysia website, pre-orders for the iPhone 15 starts from 22nd September. It will be available from 29th September onwards.
