Insta360 X5 now available in Malaysia; Price starts from RM2,499
Insta360 has announced the launch of its latest 360-degree action camera, the Insta360 X5, which introduces several hardware and software improvements over its predecessor, the Insta360 X4. The X5 now supports 8K video recording at 30 frames per second using dual 1/1.28-inch sensors. The camera also includes 5.7K video at 60FPS with Active HDR for more detailed highlight and shadow rendering, and enhanced stabilization during motion.
For more traditional wide-angle shots, the X5 includes a 4K60FPS single-lens mode aimed at providing ultra-wide point-of-view footage. Photo capabilities have also improved, with the camera able to capture 72MP 360° images. Insta360’s AI enhancements offer dynamic range optimization and noise reduction for better performance in low-light conditions.
A new Wind Guard system, which includes a steel mesh and updated noise reduction algorithm, is designed to minimise wind interference and improve voice clarity during outdoor shoots. Additionally, the Invisible Selfie Stick feature remains, allowing for clean 360° video without visible camera mounts.
Battery life has been slightly extended, with the 2,400mAh battery offering up to 185 minutes of operation. Fast charging is also supported, with 80% charge reached in just 20 minutes. For durability, the X5 features a replaceable lens design and ultra-hard optical film said to offer double the drop resistance of the previous model. It is waterproof to 15 metres without a case and up to 60 metres with the optional Invisible Dive Case.
Mounting options have also been updated with a new magnetic system, suited for mounting on bikes or helmets.
Insta360 X5 price in Malaysia
The Insta360 X5 is now available in Malaysia, with prices starting at RM2,499 for the camera only. A bundle including a 64GB SD card is priced at RM2,549. It is available for purchase via the Insta360 official store on Shopee.
