Infinix launches affordable SMART 9 and HOT 50i smartphones in Malaysia; Price starts RM299
Infinix Malaysia has launched two of its latest affordable offerings on the same day, namely the SMART 9 and HOT 50i.
Infinix’s SMART series and HOT series are the brand’s line of budget smartphones, with the former being in the lowest rung of the price scale.
This year’s SMART 9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, helped further by 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. Storage, however, is expandable up to 2TB. For visuals, the phone sports a 6.7″ HD+ (720×1600) display offering 120Hz refresh rates and 500nits peak brightness. Camera arrays are limited, with only a 13MP rear lens and an 8MP selfie shooter to rely on. It packs on a 5,000mAh battery supporting 10W wired charging.
Other than that, the SMART 9 is IP54-rated for dust and water resistance, has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, as well as support for dual SIM.
The SMART 9 is available for only RM299 in Malaysia, purchasable via Infinix’s official platforms on Shopee and Lazada.
As for the HOT 50i, this model too, runs on the MediaTek Helio G81. You do, however, have the choice of either a 4GB+128GB or a 4GB+256GB variant. Similarly, storage is expandable up to 2TB with microSD card.
Displays are similar too, with the Hot 50i fitting on a 6.7″ HD+ (720×1600) LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rates and 500nits peak brightness. One notable upgrade you get on this model is a 48MP rear camera, though the front camera remains only at 8MP.
The HOT 50i is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 18W wired charging. Other noteworthy mentions includes a side-fingerprint sensor, support for NFC, and support for dual SIM cards.
The Infinix HOT 50i is available in Malaysia at RM399 for the 4GB+128GB variant, and RM469 for the 4GB+256GB variant. The phones can be purchase on Infinix’s official Shopee and Lazada stores.
