The Infinix NOTE 40 Series has officially launched in Malaysia after its official unveiling this evening. The series consists of two models, the base model NOTE 40 and the upscaled NOTE 40 Pro 5G. Official pricing for each model has also been confirmed, with the official prices as listed below:

As of 19th March, the NOTE 40 Series is now available for pre-order, with the phones officially hitting the shelves from 25th March onwards, There will be a promo running for an undetermined time, where purchases of any device in the NOTE 40 Series will come with a MagPower and MagCase worth RM69.

Interested buyers can put their orders in on Infinix’s official online channels on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.

Infinix NOTE 40 Specs

This year’s NOTE 40 Series debuts Infinix’s first ever self-developed power management chip – the Cheetah X1. The proprietary chip is responsible for optimizing the devices’ 45W fast charging by integrating a high-precision power module and a safety module ensuring efficient and safe charging. On that note, both models pack a 5,000mAh battery.

The NOTE 40 Series now also has the versatility to attach the Infinix MagKit, consisting of a MagPower, MagCase, and MagPad for 20W wireless charging. The MagKit, however, does not come in the box.

The NOTE 40 and NOTE 40 Pro 5G have displays of the same make-up, with both sporting a 6.78″ AMOLED panel with FHD+ (1080p) resolution, 120Hz maximum refresh rates, and 1,300nits peak brightness. It’s worth mentioning that only the Pro model has curved displays, while the base NOTE 40 maintains a flat screen.

Cameras are also somewhat similar with a 108MP main camera leading the tri-camera setup, but only the Pro model is given OIS. Infinix did not specify the other two lenses, only that it is a 2MP + 2MP lens combination. For selfies, they each have a 32MP front camera.

The main difference between the two draws down to processors. While the base NOTE 40 utilizes the Helio G99 chipset, the NOTE 40 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7020 processor. Also, oddly enough, the NOTE 40 has the better IP54 rating, compared to its Pro sibling which is only IP53-rated.

Both models come in three colours: Vintage Green, Titan Gold, and Obsidian Black.

    Samsung Galaxy A55 5G

This year’s Galaxy A55 5G and A35 5G are very similar phones both in terms of features as well as design. Looking at the rear, you’ll find a triple vertical camera lineup while the front sports a punch-hole front camera. Nevertheless, there is a difference in built, with the A55 5G donning aluminum side frame and the A35 5G with plastic. Both devices will have glass backs, but only the A55 5G will have the sturdier Gorilla Glass protection.

The new A55 5G and A35 5G will have a slightly elevated side rail isolating the power button and volume rockers, providing better grip at the same time.

Regardless of the model you choose, you’ll have a 6.6″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ (1080x2340p) resolution, 120Hz maximum refresh rates, 1,000nits (HBM), and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Other areas of similarities include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging, support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, and NFC capabilities. Additionally, you won’t find an audio jack on any of the models.
