At RM499, the Infinix AI Ring Undercuts Samsung’s Galaxy Ring by a Mile

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the smart ring trend that’s been on the rise, you might be interested to learn that Infinix has released its very own AI Ring. This is only the second health-tracking ring available in Malaysia, after the Samsung Galaxy Ring, which launched in April this year.

At Computex, Acer also showcased its FreeSense Smart Ring – but there’s no confirmation yet on whether it will make its way to our shores.

It’s clear that smart rings are the current fad. In Malaysia, we now have two options at opposite ends of the price spectrum. To jog your memory, Samsung’s Galaxy Ring retails at a whopping RM2,099, while Infinix’s new AI Ring is officially priced at RM499.

What exactly is different? On paper, at least, the Infinix AI Ring offers just as much as the Galaxy Ring. Central to this is its real-time heart monitoring, which sends alerts when it detects irregular rhythms, as well as sleep tracking with actionable insights to improve the user’s sleep quality. In addition, it also tracks blood oxygen levels and stress levels.

An overview of these metrics can be analyzed in the Infinix Health App (also known as My Health). Infinix did not mention whether a subscription is required to access these features.

Health tracking aside, the Infinix AI Ring also enables gesture-based smart controls, allowing users to snap photos without using their phones. Smart controls also work for music playback and compatible home devices.

Infinix claims the ring will last between five and seven days on a single charge and charges in a transparent case that closely resembles the Galaxy Ring’s. The ring itself weights 3.7g, slightly heavier than the Galaxy’s maximum of 3g. On the plus side, the Infinix AI Ring is water-resistant and suitable for shallow-water activities.

Infinix AI Ring price in Malaysia

The Infinix AI Ring is now available for purchase in Malaysia. As mentioned earlier, it is priced at RM499 and comes in Gold and Black.

Interested buyers can purchase the ring at Infinix brand stores or online through Infinix’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Infinix offers a 12+1 month warranty for each ring purchased.
