Hypershell X Ultra: This outdoor exoskeleton can help you run further, for RM8,999

Hypershell has been making waves with their exoskeleton technology, bringing consumer-focused exoskeletons for the general public. Their latest device, the Hypershell X Ultra has just landed in Malaysia, and this one is aimed at making outdoor activities like walking, hiking, running and cycling significantly less physically demanding.
At the core of the Hypershell X Ultra is the new AI MotionEngine Ultra, which uses more than a dozen sensors to analyse a user’s movements in real time. The system automatically adjusts support depending on terrain and activity, helping to reduce effort while maintaining natural movement. According to Hypershell, this results in smoother steps and improved stability on challenging surfaces such as sand, snow and steep descents.

The X Ultra is powered by upgraded M-One Ultra Motors, delivering up to 1000W, which is a 25% increase over the previous generation. Hypershell claims the exoskeleton can reduce physical exertion by 39% while cycling and by 20% while walking, while also increasing hip flexor endurance by 63%.

Battery life has also seen a major improvement. Each battery is rated for up to 42,000 steps, and with two batteries included, the X Ultra offers a walking range of up to 60km, a significant jump from the previous model’s 17.5km.

For added versatility, the Hypershell X Ultra introduces five intelligent modes designed for different activities and terrains. These include Descent Assist for downhill knee protection, Cycling+ for dynamic torque support, Running+ for sprint assistance, Dune for sandy terrain, and Snow mode for walking on powdery surfaces.

Control options have expanded as well. In addition to the Hypershell+ mobile app, the X Ultra now supports watchOS, allowing users to switch modes, adjust power levels and monitor system status directly from an Apple Watch.

Despite its performance upgrades, the exoskeleton remains lightweight, weighing just 1.8kg (3.9lbs). It’s built using aerospace-grade materials and designed to withstand various weather conditions. Hypershell also claims the X Ultra is the first outdoor exoskeleton to have its performance independently verified by SGS.

Of course, such high tech gear won’t come cheap. Available from 1st February onwards on the Hypershell Malaysia website as well as their Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop stores, the Hypershell X Ultra will set you back a cool RM8,999. As part of the launch, early birds will also snag a free anti-cold battery worth RM599 and a 4-port charging hub worth RM299, while stocks last.
