Huawei MatePad 12 X: 12-inch, 555g tablet with PaperMatte display, priced at RM2,499
Huawei Malaysia has announced their latest tablet for 2026, the Huawei MatePad 12 X. The sleek and lightweight tablet offers PC-level productivity features as well as keyboard and stylus support, targeting creative professionals seeking a tablet for on-the-go productivity.
Huawei MatePad 12 X Malaysia pricing and availability
The Huawei MatePad 12 X is priced at RM2,499 for its single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. On top of that, the optional Huawei M-Pencil Pro is available at RM599. Both devices are now available for pre-order until 9th January at all Huawei Experience Stores, Huawei Malaysia website and their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. Pre-orders will come with free gifts worth up to RM1,047, which include the Huawei M-Pencil Pro, a Bluetooth mouse and WPS Office 3.0.
Additionally, MatePad 12 X users will enjoy additional AppGallery benefits worth up to RM2,401, which include vouchers and promotions from Genting Malaysia, Trip.com, Celebrity Fitness, Shopee PayLater and more. For Shopee PayLater in particular, you’ll get 10% off (capped at RM150 with a minimum spend of RM600) when shopping at select Huawei Experience Stores.
Huawei MatePad 12 X specs and features
The Huawei MatePad 12 X features an all metal chassis for a sleek minimalist look, weighing in at just 555g and measuring a mere 5.9mm thin. It’s display is a large 12-inch IPS LCD display, pushing a 2800 x 1840p resolution for a pixel density of 280PPI. The display also has a peak brightness of 1,000nits, with full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
Being a PaperMatte display also means it’s easier on your eyes, while giving ‘micro-vibration’ feedback when using the Huawei M-Pencil stylus, mimicking a real pen or pencil.
Under the hood, the MatePad 12 X is powered by Huawei’s own Kirin T90A system-on-chip, with the octa-core processor mated to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It runs HarmonyOS 4.2 out of the box too. Huawei also boasts plenty of productivity features such as Huawei Notes, pre-installed WPS Office, a floating multi-window system for multitasking and the GoPaint app for creative work. Huawei NearLink meanwhile lets you easily connect the bundled Smart Magnetic Keyboard and optional M-Pencil stylus.
Keeping the lights on meanwhile is a large 10,100mAh battery that Huawei says will be able to get you up to 14 hours of local video playback. It also supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging for quick top ups.
Elsewhere, the Huawei MatePad 12 X features a six-speaker audio setup, along with dual rear cameras packing a 13MP main and an 8MP ultrawide; the front camera meanwhile is an 8MP shooter. It will be available in green and white colour options.
