How to look smart and be smart with a wearable voice assistant – Mijia Smart Audio Glasses
Xiaomi Malaysia launched their latest iteration of the Smart Audio Glasses yesterday with the launch of the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses.
It is a pair of smart glasses that is focused on listening, recording and calls. Unlike other wearables like Apple Vision Pro or the Meta Ray Bans, it does not have AR or video recording functions. Think of them as a Siri or Google voice assistant on your pair of glasses.
Who is the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses suitable for?

Key highlights of the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses
During the launch event, I managed to have a hands-on experience with the glasses in all 3 variants- the frameless (Titanium), frame / Browline and the Pilot-style sunglasses. They all looked, felt and weighed like a normal pair of glasses, with the Titanium version weighing the lightest at 27.6g.
In our daily lives, we will inadvertently come into contact with water, sweat and dust and Xiaomi has ensure that it is rated IP54 splash and dust resistance so that we don’t have to treat it like a delicate glassware.
There are also noticeable upgrades over the first version of the smart audio glasses – it now comes with 4 microphones with wind noise reduction to pick up audio better, new privacy mode that reduces sound leakage to people nearby.
Battery life is increased by 30% from the first generation, up to 13 hours of continuous playback or up to 9 hours of continuous calls, and charging time has been cut from 2 hours to 1 hours for a full-charge. If users forgot to charge it in the night, a quick 10 minute charge allows up to 4 hours of playback. For a more passive user who does not use the listening and recording functions much, the battery life can last up to 12 days.
Other key information – App & prescription glasses
Users will have to download the Xiaomi Glasses App to manage recordings, gestures, devices, notifications.
For users who are already wearing a pair of prescription glasses, they can bring the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses to any optical shop to have their prescription lenses measured and fitted onto the smart glasses.

Browline and Pilot-style shades go for RM799 while the Titanium version goes for RM899.

A quick comparison on alternatives, this smart audio glasses are more expensive than TWS earbuds but far cheaper and than premium smart glasses such as the Meta Ray-Bans.
