HONOR’s Magic8 Series Breaks Cover in China, Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
HONOR has officially launched its new Magic8 Series in China, comprising two models – the standard Magic8 and the higher-end Magic8 Pro. As the direct successors to last year’s Magic7 Series, both smartphones come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is expected to become the standard chipset in next-generation flagship Android devices.
Additionally, the series features a new AI button that grants instant access to Yoyo, HONOR’s AI assistant.
The HONOR Magic8 features a 6.58-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1256×2760, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits. It comes with a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, there is a 50MP front-facing camera.
The device is powered by a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. It is available in four colour options: Black, White, Gold, and Mint.
The HONOR Magic8 Pro is equipped with a slightly larger 6.71-inch LTPO OLED panel, offering a 1256×2808 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and the same 6,000 nits peak brightness. Camera-wise, it shares the same 50MP wide and 50MP ultra-wide sensors as the Magic8, but upgrades the telephoto to a 200MP periscope lens with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS. The front camera remains at 50MP.
The Pro model houses a larger 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery, and supports faster 100W wired charging alongside 80W wireless charging. It will also be available in Black, White, Gold, and Mint finishes.

Last year, HONOR only released the Magic7 Pro in Malaysia with two variants – 12GB/512GB for RM4,599 and 16GB/1TB for RM5,199.
If the company follows a similar strategy, the Magic8 Series could arrive locally either at the end of 2025 or in early Q1 2026. However, HONOR Malaysia has not yet confirmed a launch date or which models will be available.
