The HONOR X9d Might Just Be the Right Phone for Clumsy Folks — Now in Malaysia from RM1,499
HONOR has built a reputation in recent years for launching some of the hardiest midrange smartphones in Malaysia. Now, they’ve doubled down on their stance on durability with the recently launched HONOR X9d.
HONOR’s X series devices are touted to be some of the toughest on the market, but the X9d may well be the toughest of the lot. As per its slogan, the phone is “Built to Withstand Life’s Extremes.” Reinforcing that claim is its SGS Triple-Resistant Premium Performance certification for drops, dust, and water.
Zeroing in on what that means, HONOR claims the phone can survive drops from up to 2.5 meters thanks to its combination of tempered glass, 6-layer cushioning, and a ballistic-grade damping layer for shock absorption. Moreover, the phone’s IPX9K and IP6X water and dust resistance ratings mean it can withstand high-pressure water exposure and keep out fine particles and dust.
The X9d even features a dust and water ejection function, which actively expels dust and water when needed.
Beyond durability, the phone packs a massive 8,300mAh battery supporting 66W wired charging. It sports a 6.79″ OLED display offering a 1.5K (2640×1200) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 6,000 nits peak brightness.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4. The phone has a modest dual-camera array consisting of a 108MP main camera and a 5MP ultra-wide lens, while the front camera offers 16MP for selfies.
HONOR X9d price in Malaysia
Available in Reddish Brown, Midnight Black, Sunrise Gold, and Forest Green, the HONOR X9d is now open for pre-orders until 9th October. It is offered in two variants: a 12GB/256GB model priced at RM1,499, and a 12GB/512GB model retailing at RM1,699.
As part of its launch promo, pre-orders for the device will come with a free HONOR Pad X7, 365-day front and back crack protection, a 1-year extended warranty, and a 1-year liquid damage protection warranty.
