HONOR Magic V5 Unfolds in Malaysia as the World’s Slimmest Foldable Phone
HONOR has officially launched the Magic V5 in Malaysia, introducing it as the world’s slimmest foldable smartphone. The device measures only 4.1mm when unfolded and 8.8mm when folded, weighing 217g — making it among the most compact and lightweight foldables in the market.
On the front, the Magic V5 features a 6.43-inch OLED cover screen with a 2376×1060 resolution and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits. When opened, it reveals a larger 7.95-inch OLED inner display with a 2352×2172 resolution and the same 5,000-nit brightness.
The device’s body casing is constructed using Aerospace-grade Special Fiber for structural strength, while the outer screen is protected by NanoCrystal Shield for scratch resistance. The inner display also integrates a layer of Non-Newtonian Fluid technology, intended to improve drop protection. HONOR claims the hinge can endure up to 500,000 folding cycles.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the Magic V5 comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Despite its slim frame, the phone houses a 5,820mAh battery, supporting 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. Energy efficiency and thermal management are handled by HONOR’s custom E2 Power Enhanced Chip.
For imaging, the phone includes a triple camera setup: a 50MP main camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 100x digital zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. A 20MP front-facing camera handles selfies. Additional features include IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, as well as Gemini Live — an upgraded Gemini feature that provides real-time information by identifying objects through the camera.
HONOR Magic V5 price in Malaysia
The HONOR Magic V5 is priced at RM6,999 in Malaysia. Pre-orders begin on 15 July 2025 and will end on 24 July 2025. Customers who pre-order during this period will receive exclusive gifts worth RM3,497, including a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 9 speaker, one-year worry-free crack protection, and a two-year worry-free quality assurance plan.
Pre-orders can be placed on HONOR Malaysia’s official website, as well as through HONOR’s Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop platforms. The phone will also be available at Harvey Norman, Senheng, Urban Republic, and senQ outlets.
