The HONOR’s latest foldable phone, which was launched in China back in July 2023, has officially launched in Malaysia after almost half a year. The HONOR Magic V2 is currently the world’s thinnest foldable phone in the market today.
The HONOR Magic V2 will officially retail at RM6,999 in Malaysia. It will hit the shelves on 25th January onwards, but you can pre-order the device from now until 24th January on the HONOR online store, or on HONOR’s official store on Shopee and Lazada. Alternatively, you can also place your pre-orders at HONOR’s authorised dealers Harvey Norman, Senheng, senQ, Urban Republic, and Maxis.
There will be an early bird promo from the 16th – 24th January, in which pre-orders will come with exclusive gifts worth RM3,247, including an HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2, a foldable phone car holder, and a year-long screen protection.
Being dubbed the ‘world’s thinnest and lightest inward foldable smartphone’ comes with good merit, as the Magic V2 weights only 231g. The device keeps to a slim 9.9mm even when folded, and is slimmer still when unfolded with a 4.7mm thinness.
Its external screen is a 6.43″ OLED display with 2376x1060p resolution. It has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 2,500nits. The Magic V2 opens up to reveal a 7.92″ internal OLED display, with a higher 2344x2156p resolution. Refresh rates again maxes at 120Hz, but its peak brightness is significantly lower than the external display with only 1,600nits to offer.
As for its processor, the Magic V2 is run by Qualcomm’s 2023 flagship offering, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It comes in a single memory configuration of 16GB and 512GB storage.
On the back panel is a triple vertical camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra wide, and a 20MP telephoto lens. Both the main cameras and the telephoto lens are fitted with OIS. You’ll have two 16MP selfie cameras on the device, one each on the internal and external display.
The device is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, with 66W wired charging.
The HONOR Magic V2 comes in Purple and Black, as well as a Black PU vegan leather design.
