HONOR introduces X9c and X7c in Malaysia; Price starts from RM699
After weeks of teasers, HONOR has officially unveiled the X9c, touted as the most durable phone the brand has ever made. According to HONOR, the self-claimed ‘King of Durability’ can withstand drops from up to 2 metres, and has a body that is highly scratch resistant.
Additionally, the three-layer sealing protection has earned the phone an IP65M rating for water resistance, allowing for 360-degree protection even when submerged.
In terms of hardware, the X9c is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. It comes with 12GB RAM, with the choice of either 256GB or 512GB storage.
For displays, the phone sports a 6.78″ curved OLED panel offering 1.5K (2700×1224) resolution and 120Hz refresh rates. There’s also a commendable 4,000nits peak brightness to follow suit.
The HONOR X9c has two rear cameras, although the highlight is undeniably the 108MP main camera, now fitted with OIS. Supporting this is a 5MP wide camera. Elsewhere at the front is a 16MP selfie shooter.
Moving along the lines of durability, the X9c packs a large 6,600mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charging. Other specs worth mentioning is the support for Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1, and the NFC feature.
Available in Titanium Purple, Jade Cyan, and Titanium Black, the HONOR X9c is now available for pre-orders. It retails at RM1,499 for the 12GB+256GB variant, and RM1,699 for the 12GB+512GB variant.
In addition to the X9c, HONOR has also released the X7c, a budget version of the X series. This model utilizes the Snapdragon 685 chipset, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is less resistant, with an IP64 dust and water resistance.
You’ll no longer have OLED displays here. Instead, it sports a 6.77″ LCD display with 1610×720 resolution; but you do still have 120Hz refresh rates.
There’s still a 108MP main camera, but without the assistance of OIS. Front cameras, on the other hand, is toned down to 8MP.
Despite being the budget model, the X7c still packs a decent 6,000mAh battery supporting 35W wired charging. It supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and you’ll still get NFC here.
The HONOR X7c retails at RM699, and will be available from 15th November onwards. The phone is available in Forest Green and Midnight Black.
