Honda Malaysia Recalls Over 87,000 Vehicles Due to Fuel Pump Issues

Honda Malaysia has announced a precautionary recall involving 87,490 units of vehicles across various models due to two separate fuel pump-related issues.
The first issue relates to the fuel pump impeller, which may swell after prolonged exposure to fuel. This can potentially prevent the engine from starting or cause it to stall while driving. A total of 84,073 units are affected under this category, which includes the Honda Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Odyssey.

The second issue involves the high-pressure fuel pump, which may develop cracks over time due to long-term use and excessive stress. This could result in fuel leakage or a noticeable fuel odour while the vehicle is in operation or idle. This issue affects 3,417 units, specifically from the Civic (2023-2024) and CR-V (2024) models.
Honda Malaysia has assured customers that all fuel pump replacements will be carried out free of charge, even if the vehicle is no longer under warranty. All associated costs will be fully covered by the company.
Owners of affected vehicles will receive official notification letters detailing the recall. Customers can also check their vehicle status using the HondaTouch mobile application. Upon receiving the notice, Honda encourages customers to contact any authorised Honda dealer to arrange for a service appointment.
As of this announcement, there have been no reported accidents or injuries linked to these issues.
