GWM Malaysia has introduced a new Phantom Black interior option for the Haval H6 HEV, coinciding with the SUV’s record-breaking sales performance in the first half of 2025.

The addition of the black interior enhances the premium and sporty appeal of the hybrid SUV, featuring soft-touch materials and silver accents throughout the cabin. This new option joins the existing interior colour palette, offering buyers greater flexibility in customising the vehicle to suit their preferences.

The exterior colour range remains unchanged, with five available options: black, green, silver, grey, and white. The Haval H6 HEV, which was launched in October last year, is priced at RM139,800 (on-the-road without insurance) and continues to be assembled locally.

GWM Malaysia stated that the decision to introduce the black interior was driven by customer feedback favouring a more modern and refined cabin experience.

In a move to enhance ownership value, the company has also upgraded its hybrid battery warranty coverage from 8 years to 10 years or 1 million kilometres, whichever comes first. The battery warranty is now transferrable to the next vehicle owner, which is expected to improve long-term resale value and overall peace of mind. This updated warranty also applies retroactively to existing owners.

For first-time buyers, the Haval H6 HEV is covered by a standard 7-year / 200,000km manufacturer’s warranty, a 10-year / 1 million km engine warranty, a 10-year / 1 million km hybrid battery warranty, and an 8-year / 1 million km hybrid system warranty.

Subsequent owners receive a 7-year / 200,000km manufacturer’s warranty, a 7-year / 200,000km engine warranty, a transferrable 10-year / 1 million km hybrid battery warranty, and an 8-year / 200,000km hybrid system warranty.

There are no mechanical changes to the vehicle. The Haval H6 HEV continues to use a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a front-mounted electric motor, delivering a combined output of 240hp and 530Nm of torque through a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).

The hybrid SUV recently achieved recognition in the ASEAN Book of Records for the longest verified real-world driving distance by a hybrid SUV in the region, further underlining its fuel efficiency and real-world usability.

GWM Malaysia is currently offering a limited-time promotion on the Haval H6 HEV, which includes savings worth RM6,600. Now in its 3rd generation, the Haval H6 HEV competes with other popular models in the C-segment SUV category, including the Proton X70, Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, Honda HR-V, and Mazda CX-5.

In addition to the updated H6 HEV, GWM is preparing to expand its local portfolio with the upcoming launches of the Ora Good Cat GT and the Wey 80 plug-in hybrid MPV. The Ora Good Cat GT will offer an enhanced electric powertrain with 171hp and 250Nm of torque, while the seven-seat Wey 80 will combine a 1.5-litre turbo engine with two electric motors for a total output of up to 480hp and 762Nm.

The company has grown its nationwide network from 18 outlets in early 2024 to 26 by mid-2025, with plans to reach 35 by the end of the year. They also reported surpassing their total 2024 sales volume within the first six months of 2025, marking a 20.3% increase compared to the same period last year. While no specific figures were disclosed, the Haval H6 HEV was noted as the main contributor to this growth.
