Google’s Pixel 10 Teaser Takes a Cheeky Dig at Apple

Google has released a cheeky teaser ahead of the upcoming launch of the Pixel 10 phones, seemingly taking a poke at Apple.
Visually, the 30-second clip looks like any other smartphone pre-launch video. It shows multiple angles of the Pixel 10: the rounded edges, the curved glass, the side rails, and, eventually, the camera visor, which is iconic to the Pixel series.
It’s in the audio overlay where the mischievous jab takes place. The short, yet poignant script goes:
“If you buy a new phone because of a feature that’s coming soon, but it’s been coming soon for a full year, you could change your definition of soon—or you could just… change your phone.”
Though Apple wasn’t specifically mentioned, those familiar with the goings-on in the smartphone world would recognize Apple’s unfulfilled promises of certain AI features, including a more context-aware and personalized Siri. Some of these features were demoed during the iPhone 16 launch but were severely delayed.
Google, it seems, has turned that into fuel to fire up their push for the upcoming Pixel 10 phones, which will be unveiled on August 20th (or 21st August, 1 AM Malaysia Time) during the Made by Google event.
