Google Releases AI Filmmaking Tool, Flow, That Can Generate Sound Effects and Dialogue

It is safe to say that Google’s I/O 2025 was nothing short of groundbreaking. Apart from introducing its new virtual Try-on feature for online shopping, the tech giant also rolled out a new AI filmmaking tool for creatives called Flow.
It builds upon Google’s most advanced AI models, namely Imagen, Gemini, and the newly updated Veo 3 video-generating tool.

Through Veo, Google is able to generate cinematic videos simply by text or image prompts. However, the new Veo 3 takes it a step further with native audio generation. With descriptive prompts, Veo 3 is able to generate sound effects, background sounds, and amazingly, even dialogue.
Google emphasizes Veo 3’s exceptional prompt adherence, highlighting its capabilities to transform text and image prompts into “cinematic outputs that excel at physics and realism.”

Quality is up from Veo 2, and now you can add dialogue between characters, sound effects and background noise.

The cinematic clips that played during the event were impressive, albeit short. Nevertheless, native audio generation marks a big step forward in AI-generated content. In fact, I’m pretty convinced that the first fully AI-generated movie is around the corner.
According to Google, Flow is available today in the Gemini app for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S., and the company says it plans to roll it out to more countries soon.
